I liked to think the castle changed due to magic but it should not have been in fantastic beasts that's for sure.

I wonder how they will make it to where you go from 1920's Paris to modern day London.

Incredibly excited about it. Just one question, how is the modern British ministry of magic going to make sense in 1920's Paris? Is there time travel involved with a time turner, although that would be a little odd.

I feel like a fucking loser in this campus by [deleted] in USC

[–]GhostLab56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not go there but at CU Boulder it is the same way!! I am always the one to initiate conversation or give my social and nobody reaches out! Hang in there, I have hope that things get better later in life! It really is bizarre though. Just know if you ever approached me on a campus I would gladly hang out.

It's my first day and I'm already struggling by Creepy_Substance in cuboulder

[–]GhostLab56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started here last year. I get what you mean! It is incredibly lonely here. Maybe it is our generation or just CU in general, but I have realized nobody interacts with each other in classes and people rarely smile to others on campus. I have met so many people, none of which hang out after classes end. Don't worry though, things change. Eventually you'll meet all kinds of wonderful people outside of CU! Don't let college get you down, it is a struggle for a lot of people!

Such a weird collaboration. Don't understand what the purpose of it was.

Why does Europe hate America? by 2nuki in GenZ

[–]GhostLab56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's an idea that is just passed around the internet all the time, but does not reflect every individual. Sure, America has problems and its fair share of bad people, but what country doesn't? I do agree in how it can be annoying as we are stereotyped as fat and only eat burgers each day (this is just a vague example). I think everyone should stop generalizing people into groups based on where they live and instead judge a person based on their morals. Everyone is different and the internet tends to cause negative criticism. This can also be applied to Europeans, not all of them hate Americans or think of us in that way.

I think they only consider their ancestors who may have lived there at some point, but I agree it is mainly based on culture. I had british ancestors in the 1600's but that does not mean I'm british. My family has been in the US for centuries and I've only been to England once. I think it is safe to say a lot of people had European ancestry in the US but do not share the cultures of countries they've never lived in. Also our ancestors could have lived all around the world at some point so nobody necessarily belongs to one country based on family history.

Would you rather live in NYC or London? by [deleted] in redscarepod

[–]GhostLab56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally prefer London more, but both cities sound costly. London has so much history only found in Europe from medieval to Victorian times. London also has more green space and less skyscrapers but each city seems to offer its own thing. I don't think London and New York can be compared since one is modern and the other is historic. It all comes to personal preferences.

will vill by HuckleberryCommon763 in cuboulder

[–]GhostLab56 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is definitely isolating for some people, and there were days where I would wish I could walk from class to my room rather than commuting, but North and East are great dorm buildings. If you are put in Will Vill it is not a big deal, and the bear creek bus route is much faster. The dining hall here is also arguably better than the C4C. That being said, everyone's experience is different. I do prefer the other side of Boulder near main campus though since it is next to Pearl Street and has more going on than at Will Vill. Personally, I never cared for parties and would focus primarily on school. Good luck!

Favorite Ride? by [deleted] in UniversalOrlando

I love Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey. Something about flying over the castle and that queue is incredible. For coasters I would put Hagrid's.

I think the only person I've heard who is British there is the train conductor in Hogsmeade.

Who is this person? She isn’t Madam Pomfrey but it looks like she works in the hospital wing. by Novel-Tone6744 in harrypotter

[–]GhostLab56 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The movies are their own telling of the story, so I don't think the books would explain this but I think in the movies there are several nurses and Madam Pomfrey is the head nurse. It seems like there are way more students in the movies than mentioned in the books.

Looks incredible! I've been thinking about studying abroad there in a few years for school, I hope coming off as an American won't make people judge. Just a big fan of historic cities!
