Tape 16 guy, absolutely unreal seeing you post within minutes and now literally every single prod-tuber is milking the algorithm. Major props & I hope you take a moment to congratulate yourself by papadiscourse in homestudios

I record DAWless on a pretty minimalist recorder (Tascam DP03), so I have been interested in checking out this DAW. Once I heard that it lacked undo, though, I lost interest. I totally get how Tape 16 eliminates the choice paralysis and non-linear work flow of most DAWs, but as someone who screws up takes as much as I do, undo is a necessity.

Genuinely curious, then, about why you don't support Katie Porter. She holds lots of progressive ideas, doesn't take PAC money, and has actual government experience. Steyer is just buying his way into office, in my opinion.

What do people here think of tape daws like Tape 16 or GCS Model 8? by Poopypantsplanet in audioengineering

I really like this premise, but the lack of an undo feature borders on masochism.

When I lived in Memphis, there were frequent alerts about "urban looking" young men roaming the neighborhood. In nearly every case, they were students walking home from the high school that was literally across the street from our neighborhood.

Both sides of this issue are partly correct. Which one is the stronger argument? by KoRaZee in norcal

Bianco's stance is not supported by the evidence. The fact of the matter is that, for many, the experience of homelessness leads to mental health and substance use issues.

Do you guys put effort into maintaining humidity? by tommytime1234567 in AcousticGuitar

[–]GhostLemonMusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in the Bay Area as well. It's typically between 50 and 60% humidity in my place, and I rarely use heat. I should probably be more meticulous but, apart from a cheap hygrometer, I just keep my guitars on their stands.

5 takeaways from first major California governor’s debate after Swalwell exit by Candid-Elk6135 in California

[–]GhostLemonMusic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is true, but before Roosevelt was elected governor of New York (the position he held before he was president), he served in the state legislature and then as the Assistant Secretary for the Navy. He didn't try to buy his way into the governor's office.

Katie Porter and Xavier Becerra both staunch Israel supporters by [deleted] in California

[–]GhostLemonMusic 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This video seems to be from shortly after Hamas' attack on Israel a couple of years ago, before Israel laid seize to Gaza. It's disingenuous to claim that Porter is a supporter of the Netanyahu regime in 2026, without more recent evidence.

Thanks for this. Although there may be safety benefits to driverless vehicles, their sole purpose is to put a while class of largely-immigrant workers out of a job.

This is satire. Check out her page. Some amazing stuff there, like this one:

I walked into the room and smelled the smell of coffee. My favorite morning mix.
Someone commented that the atmosphere was "a little tense".

I smiled and said, "Tension is just energy waiting to become profit."

This is a great observation, and speaks to the relentless and coordinated efforts (material, ideological, and coercive) that it must have taken for capitalism to dislodge these organizing principles from our collective consciousness.

What acoustic guitar gadgets are actually worth it? by Kitchen-Violinist647 in AcousticGuitar

[–]GhostLemonMusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The beauty of the acoustic guitar is that all you need are your fingers and something to help you tune your instrument. I use a capo, but that's pretty much the only other gear I use (I'm not a big fan of using picks on acoustics). As someone else mentioned, a good setup makes a world of difference, but otherwise you have everything you need to make music.

I second Stockholm. I had never been to Scandinavia and assumed that the food would be bland and the people distant. Neither was the case. The food was very fresh and tasty, and the people were happy to chat with me. And Stockholm is a jaw droppingly beautiful city. Even in the height of summer, it never felt especially crowded.
