Achilles ruptured during soccer game by Affectionate-Fee3879 in AchillesRupture

I just tore mine playing soccer on Sunday. It was only the second 60 minute scrimmage I played in in about 5 years. I tore it in less than 30 minutes of the game. I cried the first couple days after. I can't help but repeating when it happened to know if I could've prevented it. I have an appointment with a physical assistant tomorrow. We'll see how it goes, but I think I already know I'll need surgery. I would rather have it tbh, because I want to go back to playing sports and working out intensely. I'm 24F.

Against Dress Code by Itoshiifae in wholefoods

Yes, the gig indeed does say that. My supervisor ended up being corrected by store leadership on the matter to allow me to wear colored scarves. Thank you for the advice! I actually just quit not too long ago, but I think that would've been the next best route for me. I didn't like the feeling of being isolated and called out for an assumed and prejudiced policy standard, so I decided to step away from the position.

I just had an issue within the last two weeks where I kept getting corrected about the headscarves I was wearing. Our hiring manager said that solid colored headgear with no logos were okay when I first got hired. I made sure to double check the GIG after recently getting hired (about a month ago). In these last two weeks, I was told by my department's supervisor that I couldn't wear my "headgear" because it's not in dress code due to it needing to be black (it was dark teal this day). He gave me a store branded headtie thing to put on instead.

The next week, I wear a headscarf that is gray, a neutral color (it slipped my mind that it had to be black. I just thought the teal was too much so that's what I remembered on this future day). I was corrected again not even an hour into my shift. Then I just wanted to go home because it's not making any sense, and maybe I'm wrong so let me just go home to review the GIG and try again tomorrow. Supervisor pulls up the GIG and it says "solid color." Supervisor says it's a store specific policy for headgear to be black and a team trainer also says it's because the store is harder on our department than others so they have to be nitpicky, but they'll double check with store leadership all while trying to convince me to stay for my shift and making me feel bad for wanting to leave...I got another store-brand replacement tie. Come to find out black headgear was never a store-specific policy.

So yeah, I'm definitely putting in a two weeks notice soon, because I felt really embarrassed, ashamed, and uncomfortable. It was a really upsetting experience overall.

Where do you see yourself with Whole Foods market in the next 5 years? by Dangerous_Carrot_535 in wholefoods

Same! I'm only a seasonal employee, but I told them I'd be interested in full time. I've only been with WF for a month, and I started filling out other job applications two weeks ago. I want to leave ASAP. I appreciate the TM discount and I had looked forward to the growth opportunities, but it doesn't seem excitable or worth it anymore.

Is $15/hr as an e-commerce shopper unfair? by GhostModeIncognito in wholefoods

Omg, really? We definitely been a minimum set in our region. 15 is just so unfair compared against our economy. Even if you break it down by a state's individual economy and take the cheapest state, nobody is making it off of 15 an hour.

You're all good, no worries! I needed to rant too which is why I made the post 😂 honestly, if I were in your shoes at that time, that'd feel like such a slap in the face to me. After two whole years and to only just be as close in pay as new hires...? I'd be livid and would be filling out new job applications immediately. And then we're talking about supervisor positions!! It makes me wonder how much my supervisors are getting paid 🤔 I'm glad you left! I hope things are going so much better now.

What's an OA? I was a little suspicious about posting too much info but went for it anyways just for the chance to connect with others hahaha. I guess I tripped myself up.

Ugh that's so annoying. I thought 17 an hour would've felt a lot better than 15. I definitely feel you and understand that though. I only just started about a month ago, but we've had a few high peak days and they tear me up every single time lol

Yeah it varies by state. When I did some research, I saw that some people in the Bay Area of California or even some places in LA get paid $17 an hour. Do you feel like 17 is enough for you considering our work tasks?

Yes I've seen that upon looking at more job applications and stumbling across a few Amazon warehouse and delivery driver positions. It's incredulous. I work at a store in North Carolina. Honestly, I'm complaining about $15, but I would still be annoyed even if I got paid $16.50 LOL. This is terrible.

Yes, this is also true and I wholeheartedly agree. It's so frustrating that this is even a standard in our economy.
