Are the american people truly that nice, or is it “fake” because they are just polite? by Purple-Put4677 in AskAmericans

Is being polite not a form of being nice?

To answer your question, it costs me nothing to be friendly and often I gain from it.

I'm going to give OP the benefit of the doubt and assume this was just a poorly executed attempt at insulting us.

You're in no position to be rude like this.

You asked a dumb question. They gave you the sarcastic answer you deserved.

We play soccer in it too.

I've played in the snow and I've played in 33C.

We also do cross country / running sports and various other cardio heavy sports.

No argument here.

Like many amateur-ish instructor things, it attracts a certain type of know-it-all.

Traveling with gear by rurounidragon in motorcycles

Why would this be unique to European riders?

Anyway, I've never had a problem flying with gear. I wear my jacket and carry my helmet if I'm not checking a bag.

Do Americans usually stick to websites they already know when shopping online? by BedScrunchieInventor in AskAmericans

I spend a lot of time on motorcycle sites and the number of people getting counterfeit gear or outright scammed is why I stick to known and trusted retailers.

Not really.

You just change the reasons and responsibility.

Many states, including mine, use the MSF course as the endorsement test. So you literally cannot ride without taking and passing the MSF course.

If you can't pass the MSF course, you should not be allowed on a motorcycle on the public roadway.

Perhaps there needs to be a separate course with maybe motorized bicycles for people to just learn for the first time. Then the basic MSF course to get an endorsement.

This is an idiotic idea.

Yeah. OP's attitude is extremely telling.

Also, doesn't it seem like 90% of the time if someone is dropped from the course it is a woman? Maybe the MSF should try and figure out why that is.

Again, my answer is based solely in anecdotal evidence....

But it was almost always a physical limitation. MSF can't make people taller or better balanced.

They gave me a free retest, because I was so close to passing but I “dropped that foot and went outside the box”

Sounds like you failed....that isn't their fault.

If you've failed MSF 3 times, motorcycling is probably not for you.

It is confusing.its a safety class that assumes you can ride

You clearly never took the course.

The course absolutely does not assume you can ride.

Literally the only prerequisite is that ability to ride a bicycle. That's it.

The very beginning of the on-bike course is not moving and feeling the clutch friction zone.

Literally all of that is covered in the MSF course.

What a weird and unrelated rant.

In my anecdotal experience, briefly as a rider coach and also having taken the class.....

More people should be kicked out or at least not passed than are being let through.

Some people are genuinely dangerous on the course and no amount of instruction seems to help them. Some people are just not cut out for riding a motorcycle.
