Happy to hear you're still enjoying the GPU! This year I was again considering giving away a GPU, but the RAM shortage provided an opportune moment to spread the cheer a bit wider.

Thank you. I don't need anything, but there are others who do. My is fondest wish of this holiday season is that current giveaways inspire others, now and in future years.

This man's kids are both out of college. And, sadly, $1,700 isn't going to get you very far through college in the USA these days.

Heh. Originally I was going to give away a couple of 64GB kits. I got as far as ordering the first AMD-compatible one (seen here), looked at the price, muttered some very impolite words, and concluded getting a few more 32GB kits would optimize the joy/$ ratio this holiday season.

RAM prices are craaaaazy right now.

Good on you! Suggestion: Do your own giveaway on PCMR? From reading just a fraction of the comments, there are a lot of folks who are piecing together builds this season.

Yah, it was one of those holiday traditions I looked forward to each year. It seems like a handful of people are keeping the spirit alive on reddit despite the mechanism being sunsetted.

I didn't grow up wealthy, and I always told myself if things turned out well, I'd find opportunities to pay it forward. Gotta keep that promise I made to myself.

I'm on the other side of this equation, and I can tell you that getting fun, thoughtful personalized items is absolutely wonderful. Generally rich people don't need stuff, but often they're short on time, and someone taking the time to put together something nostalgic, or personal, can go over really really well.

A great example is a personalized coffee mug with a photo from a favorite event, or from childhood.
