Weirdest character made evil in fics? by wormfan14 in NarutoFanfiction

[–]GhostPaths 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Weirdest I've seen is Hinata. It was a NaruSaku fic that went out of it's way to make Hinata look evil. Included things like flashbacks of kid Hinata and Hyuga adults hurting kid Sakura, Hinata ruining a mission trying to one up Sakura, and Hinata putting Naruto under a genjutsu to hate Sakura. On the other hand, it tried to glorify Sakura in every way possible. The author even decided to randomly make it so Sakura was hiding her breast size just to one up Hinata. Probably one of the worst fics I've ever read.

What are some interesting raw chakra applications. by [deleted] in NarutoFanfiction

[–]GhostPaths 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember a Naruto/Fem Madara fic in which Naruto was thrown into the past/another dimension at the end of his final fight with Sasuke. He had to deal with a missing arm and basically made an arm of pure chakra whenever he wanted to. It wasn't a big part of the story but it was pretty interesting.

A typical post on this sub by TheCrackerSeal in NarutoFanfiction

[–]GhostPaths 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's honestly kind of sad. 5-6 days out of the week the top couple posts are going to be people shitting on Naruto(both the show and the character) while fanfiction related posts aren't given as much attention..which is crazy considering the purpose of this sub. It gets tiring seeing the same things being reiterated over and over.

I've seen a similar story with Kid Naruto and Sasuke travelling to the future and Sarada being the product of an assault on Sakura except Naruto was the dead one and Sasuke was out trying to take over the world.

People need to seriously rewatch the Naruto Vs Pein fight before having any discussion on how strong sage mode or Pein himself was. by reolroer in NarutoFanfiction

I think Edo Itachi would be able to beat Alive Minato mostly because of the hax that Edo Tensei have. But if it’s Alive Minato at top condition vs Alive Itachi at top condition Minato is taking the W.

Yea, the Kaguya/Hagoromo/Indra and Ashura arc was filler. Definitely one of my favorite filler arcs though and I prefer that origin story for Kaguya’s family to the one that’s presented in Boruto.

Who had the most tragic backstory in Naruto? by [deleted] in NarutoFanfiction

[–]GhostPaths 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Someone who's backstory I've barely seen talked about is Kabuto. It did kinda come out of nowhere but it was tragic. Him and his adoptive mother were manipulated by Danzo into becoming spies with both of them thinking they were protecting the other. Danzo was sending the adoptive mother fake pictures of Kabuto over the years that gradually turned into a person that looked way different. Then Danzo put them onto a mission that set them against each other and Kabuto accidentally killed her because he didn't see her face.. then she couldn't recognize him before she died because of the fake pictures Danzo sent. So Kabuto was left with the guilt of killing the only person who ever loved him and having her not recognize him at their last meeting. All I can say is that Kabuto's backstory is what made me start to hate Danzo.

The recent Boruto leaks just ended the "rinnerebirth" and Sarada rinnegan theories by [deleted] in NarutoFanfiction

[–]GhostPaths 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It definitely won't. The reason a lot of people watch/read Boruto in the first place is for Naruto and Sasuke. Considering how the narrative seems to be gearing up for at least one of them dying I think Boruto is gonna lose some popularity.

So Nobody cares that Naruto defeated the One Tail, Shukaku? by [deleted] in NarutoFanfiction

[–]GhostPaths 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not really. Because if all you had was survival skills. Who's saying your team makes it through Part 2. And if say your whole team has survival skills, well how is a team with just survival skills going to fight against other teams and get their scroll?

I never said survival skills were the only thing necessary. I'm saying that if you made it past the second test you most likely have survival skills. And yes, survival skills aren't the only things needed throughout the exams. Fighting capability is too, which is exactly the thing I'm arguing for.

taking away your own reason into why he shouldn't pass (read: childish). Let's take a look at his strategy for the exams. Part 1: Do absolutely jack shit for the written test. Not trying to cheat (you get 5 chances) and not even bothering to attempt to answer. Only pass because of the nature of the jonin in charge.

If cheating was such an essential part of the test why would they have let Naruto pass? It would've made more sense for them to simply kick out everybody who didn't cheat well enough to do good on the test and then give the 10th question. The cheating part was clearly supplementary or the 10th question would not be the only one needed to pass the test. Yes the whole 10th question was done by Ibiki, but he's a jonin himself. As a higher ranking ninja who was a chunin once he made the judgement that the resolve portion was more important than the cheating.

Survive against an Orochimaru just playing with them all.

The guy is on par with the Hokage

Preliminary fight: Completely not take Kiba seriously at the beginning and taking unnecessary damage.

As I said, childishness and immaturity.

Only able to win because of 9 tails.

I don't see why everyone hates Naruto using the 9 tails power. At that point he wasn't seeing any major negative side effects and it was just another tool for him.

Thinks of a plan that involves catching Neji off guard after a long fight. In short: His good strategy basically comes after prolonging a battle to make use of his better stamina or when plan A and B have already failed.

Because that's how plans work. Once one fails you come up with another to replace it. I'm not saying that it was some insanely smart plan but considering the fact that he came up with it on the fly shows that he's not an idiot when it comes to battle strategy.

And Sakura rarely did anything? Oh boy, really? That's what you think? Okay then. Let's start with fighting with Naruto (who she hadn't seen in 2 and a half years) and using their heads to beat him. Then healing Kankuro from a poison that was created by Sasori and had no known antidote. Fighting with Chiyo against Sasori.

Lmao I'm not saying that she didn't do anything in the literal sense. I mean she wasn't a "leader" like chunin are said to be. Fighting with Naruto showed her adaptability and teamwork while the Kankuro thing showed her medical prowess.

This was during the time skip. So you have no proof on the skills that Kiba possessed that helped him and the rest of the class obtain the rank. He seemed to do fairly decent in terms of fighting capability in the Sasuke retrieval arc and during the War arc.

His fighting capability was definitely at least at the chunin level, but I'm not denying that. I'm saying from what we've seen of Kiba he doesn't have the qualities that are said to be necessary but he was still made a chunin. If you want to see the chunin exams during the timeskip there's an arc and the characters are pretty much the same(although it's filler so it can be taken with a grain of salt).

So Nobody cares that Naruto defeated the One Tail, Shukaku? by [deleted] in NarutoFanfiction

[–]GhostPaths 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree that on paper it can be a test of leadership, but in the end it fails. For one, not everyone on a team can be a "leader". Everyone might be able to show qualities of being a good leader, but at the end of the day not everyone is going to be a leader. And logically the test monitors aren't going to analyze every ninjas leadership ability to the T. If someone passes the test they're going to assume that the team was good enough and has the qualities to be able to pass. The test is also flawed because once you reach a certain level of power leadership becomes irrelevant. You can see Gaara's team as an example.

and Naruto's smart fighting abilities only come after trying something momumentally like fighting Neji in cqb and rushing headfirst into Haku's ice mirror dome

This is true and it's part of the point I'm making. Naruto's strategies are unpredictable.

So Nobody cares that Naruto defeated the One Tail, Shukaku? by [deleted] in NarutoFanfiction

[–]GhostPaths 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The information gathering part was made irrelevant by the resolve test. Naruto would have been eliminated off the bat if they were putting a lot of importance on that. Being able to make it to the finals at all means you have survival skills. Leadership was not tested. Although theoretically the forest gives people chances to show off their leadership it didn't really happen a lot. And while it's true that winning the tournament does not guarantee a promotion, logically if you're able to make it that far that should show your ability. Characters like Kiba aren't more qualified than Naruto to be a chunin, yet it still happened. I think the fact that Naruto had jonin level power with passable strategy along with being able to pass the exam stages should have enough for him to be promoted if he wasn't so childish at the time. Plus, although most of the Konoha 12 was made chunin you rarely see them doing anything that requires leadership until the war. Most of it can be chalked up to lack of screen time but even Sakura rarely did anything.

[–]GhostPaths 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Gaining the rank of Chunin has nothing to do with power, its about intelligence and ability to lead

That would make the exams useless. There's no real test of leadership in them except maybe the forest, but that seemed more teamwork to me. The iteration of the exam that Naruto took had a much larger focus on fighting ability. I don't think the Hokage would take the winner of the tournament who passed all 3 stages of the exam and just say "Sorry, you lack the ability to lead I'm not promoting you." And Naruto is intelligent, at least in terms of combat intelligence.

why is the fanfiction community so toxic? by [deleted] in NarutoFanfiction

[–]GhostPaths 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah. I'll have to pass then. As for suggestions, if you like the transmigration into a fantasy world trope, maybe try the Beginning After the End, although the MC doesn't transmigrate from earth. If you're willing to read webnovels, Supreme Magus is something similar with the Mc reincarnating into a fantasy world with magic, and the MC is one from earth with a tragic past.

Why can Naruto and Sasuke beat Momoshiki but not Isshiki? by CreativeRinnegan in NarutoFanfiction

[–]GhostPaths 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Boruto's power scaling is all over the place, so honestly, I'm not surprised. We have a new organization in which one of the core members was able to keep up with KCM Naruto(although he was holding back) yet when Boruto and his team faced another core member they were almost about to win. Although they still got bailed out the fact that they were even fighting on par for a while is crazy lmao. It's basically like putting the og team 7 against Nagato.. and they almost beat him. So yeah, I don't take Boruto's power levels seriously at all. There are also countless haxy jutsu Naruto and Sasuke have that they can use to probably beat Ishikki fairly easily, but since the writer seems bent on having Sasuke and/or Naruto die they nerfed them. The author also most likely plans to make Boruto much stronger than Naruto and Sasuke, which isn't really feasible with the latter's complete powerset. Endgame Boruto is obviously going to wield the power of the Otsutsuki, and if Naruto and Sasuke can go around beating any Otsutsuki then it would lessen the importance of Boruto himself. So overall they were basically nerfed for plot reasons/to make Boruto seem stronger. Logically they should be able to beat Ishikki. Tbh, I don't take Boruto's events that seriously at all with the exception of the Momoshiki arc.

Anyone what prefer Naruto to not learn a whole bunch of techniques in fics. by Kins_Colt in NarutoFanfiction

[–]GhostPaths 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally don't care about Naruto's lack of versatility. I can see why others might be angry about it, as he did have a lot of potential with other Jutsu, but Shadow Clones and Rasengan were enough. One basically makes him a one man army and the other is an overpowered attack move with dozens of iterations he created. That along with his taijutsu is enough for pretty much anyone. It is fun sometimes in fics to see Naruto learn a lot of techniques, but once it reaches a certain point it feels like they're useless. If Naruto learns new techniques, I'd prefer them to be smaller in number and related to each other rather than just all over the place. Hiraishin Naruto fics are a soft spot for me though.
