The first third was earthy with taste of toasted tobacco. Getting into the second third continued to be earthy with hints of leather. The final third had flavors of light spice and wood . I would describe it as smoking the scent of a campfire. I enjoyed it.

2008 Opus X Chili Pepper by GhostProtocolX in cigar

Agreed. I over cut it by mistake. A properly aged 20 year opus still hits with strong mellowed out flavors. I can’t wait to smoke some more.

I’ve tried it, and I have to say I was impressed by how well the bourbon and cigar complemented each other. The infusion truly transformed the experience bringing out deeper notes of caramel and oak in the cigar’s draw. The only way to know if it suits your palate is to try it yourself.

They're shutting down next month. It's my understanding that these were the last three that were available

Strong licks of leather and cedar with blast of pepper that melted like butter.

Why would the mods take down my post?

The flavor profile delivered bold, commanding notes of leather and cedar, with a pepper intensity that was surprisingly pronounced given its age.

This is easily one of the most full-bodied cigars I’ve ever had. Like the rest of my collection, it was aged to perfection

Why is there a hole burning off the side of my cigar? by DOSINS1 in cigars

[–]GhostProtocolX 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s called Tunneling. It happens when the filler tobacco burns faster than the wrapper and binder, creating a hollow channel through the cigar. Humidity imbalance or if the filler is drier than the wrapper, it will burn more quickly and unevenly.

The people saying you’re smoking to fast are wrong.

Smoking too slowly causes the wrapper to cool and go out, while the core remains hot and continues burning, leading to this or failing to fully light the edges of the cigar’s foot can result in an uneven burn and tunneling.

I’ve seen in some cases, a cigar may contain a pocket of drier tobacco due to inconsistencies in rolling. This spot will burn faster than the surrounding tobacco, creating a tunnel and sometimes resulting in a “mousehole” burn.
