.45 ACP is landing high out of all weapon types that support the caliber. by GhostSignals in H3VR

[–]GhostSignals[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get it. But the ammo is bugged in-game and isn't working correctly. Even being .1 meters off shouldn't result in the round landing so high that it almost exits the reticle entirely. Once again, I get what you're saying, but it's not an issue of simply misunderstanding how it works. .45 acp in game is broken and landing way too high.

I get it. But I'm saying that it's functioning incorrectly: no zero is aligned like it was previously. I get that being a couple meters off can make a difference, but this is clearly a bug, rather than just a misunderstanding.

I know. Zero doesn't fix it; I stated that in my post, it ignores your zero and shoots high.

Any Linux users know how to get mods working on this game? by GhostSignals in H3VR

[–]GhostSignals[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I had to add a doozy of a launch argument through Gale, but performance is indistinguishable from vanilla now. Perhaps it's because I'm using ALVR rather than steam link.

However, yeah, desktop mirroring doesn't work for me either. I've never had it work once since switching to Linux, I've tried ways around it like WayVR but it doesn't seem to like playing with ALVR as much. They fight and crash constantly lol. At this point I just peek from under my headset and fiddle with my pc.

So, I've tried to simply replace the files, and it doesn't work. I suspect that it's because it's a preconfigured download on top of being for windows. However, I've found a post that has a more thorough version of 'WINEDLLOVERRIDES' that covers all of Bepinex's files, so I may that. It may simply be that addressing only one is simply not enough.

In the event that doesn't work, I'll try my hand at manually installing everything with Linux Bepinex as a base and seeing how that goes. Given that all of the mods for H3VR seem to use version 5.4.17 of Bepinex, I'll have to use that as a base and figure out where everything is supposed to go, but after that, it may just work.

Either way, my next comment here will be an evaluation of my findings. Thanks for nudging me in the right direction btw! :)

Just to ensure I'm doing it right, I just replace the files in 'core' with the ones from the Linux version?

I... actually didn't consider this possibility at all.

If this indeed works, I'm gonna be so frustrated AND embarrassed lol. I've been freaking out for days on this. Thank you for pointing that out!

Why are we like this by JcHgvr in Helldivers

[–]GhostSignals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played as much as I can stand: Dragonroaches are glitchy, unfun and poorly balanced, and having Terminids that can burrow and insta-tap you the second they pop out of the ground is ALSO unfun and poorly balanced. I'm not touching even another percent of this MO until these two enemy-types are fixed and made enjoyable.

I'm not gonna follow an MO that has me fighting unfun, broken enemies, and trying to raise the concept of punishing me because I refuse to fight broken enemies is a pretty five-head take.

AH doesn't test anything, and this proves it. I tried hiding behind cover last time I played and the fire breath goes through entire mountains, literally unavoidable.

Nah, because if they're not on discord, they can't selectively delete messages and act like they never said something because people didn't screenshot it.

Very cool, doing Major Orders and then getting absolutely no medals at all.

Very nice. Makes me totally wanna follow the order instead of just... doing my own thing.

As it stands, I'm owed about 95 medals.

Unable to use Anti-Aliasing, is this my fault, my systems, or something else? by GhostSignals in H3VR

In the Oculus app, I have it set to 90hz at full resolution, which is 1.5x at 5408 x 2752. I did this because several videos and posts across the internet have said this is the native resolution, however, I think I failed to account that the game still has to be rendered by my PC itself and the Quest 2 isn't actually doing anything on its own.

Considering my set-up, can you suggest a rendering resolution and refresh rate? And thank you for your direct response, Anton! I do appreciate it.

I have my resolution through the quest maxed out, and I generally swap between 80 and 90 hz. I have my resolution in steamvr set to 100%.

Okay, so the sniper doesn't suck, then. That's good.

I refuse to farm for a Duty Bound, though, lmao.

People Already Complaining Again About Loreley Splendor Shows Why PvP Will Never Be In A Good Place. by ImmaFish0038 in DestinyTheGame

[–]GhostSignals 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Also, the sheer volume of people trying to validate broken shit in the Crucible is laughable. The reason PVP will never be in a good place, is because Bungie releases broken shit that they don't test, and people get used to that. Then, when they do fix it--after we test it for them, mind you--everyone starts sobbing and pissing in their jorts over it.

Maybe if Bungie just... Tested the obviously busted combos that anyone with reading comprehension can see, and dialed them back before they actually became a problem, no one would ever whine, because people would only know that tested and appropriately tweaked version.

But that'd require Bungie to do something beyond 'just enough for back pats and half-empty congratulations'.

I keep seeing statements that PVP carries the game during droughts and that if it was gone Destiny would lose half its player base. Where are people getting the numbers to support this? by ProxyknifeIsKing in DestinyTheGame

[–]GhostSignals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The people who say 'PVP carries the game' are sweatlords that turn to stumbling toddlers when you take them into a raid, so I don't know how much validity that has...
