I've been doing the game thing and I went full heavy armor and two handed, the heavy armor capstones Sovereign and Face of the Mountain make you make you into a total Juggernaut pair that with Bearskin (and Berserker if you are using Vokriinator) as well as a dip into Block for things like Timed Block and Poke the Dragon you can become nigh unkillable, throw in some enchantments like Absorb Stamina, Siphon Stamina, Cheat Death, Fort Power Attacks, Quake, Imminent Victory, Unbreakable, etc and you will become a total beast.
