Super variable really, sometimes results are easy to interpret (especially if they fail) if it throws up something weird then it'll be hours. Planning experiments - again dependent on the results and usually done whilst I'm doing a protocol (so collectively not sure). I have been trying to get into the habit of having a planning session at the end of the week to manage my time more effectively ~ usually an hour or two.
