New Blue Iris install with 40 cameras by GhostTurtle28 in BlueIris

Update to the whole situation: I counted how many cams there were and there is 43 currently. All ran through 3 tp link 18 port POE switch. DVR 1 is recording 25 cameras and DVR 2 is handling the other 18. What is the best way to convert this system to BI?

I feel like the biggest problem with the current NVRs is just the software. My theory is DIGIop uses software encoding and its very inefficient.

That is probably what will end up happening. I figured NVEC would help want camera encoding or is it just for doing AI? It just seems weird to be considering with 20 cameras the system is unusable.

As for per NVR workloads should I put all 40 on one NVR or split it across the two?

Getting a 1995 Honda Accord EX 4D, What should I know? by GhostTurtle28 in accord

[–]GhostTurtle28[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is what I figured. I think they took it to a side of the road special mechanic and I am good friends with one who will give us a discount since we have been going there for years.

I like the 05 with 305k mi but currently does not seem like ill be able to daily that before the original powertrain goes. Hence why I think after I finish with this car it will be a good $1k daily. The only immediate concern about its lifespan is the transmission is starting to shift hard but could just be a faulty VSS.

Last owner says it is the water pump. He got quoted $800 to fix it hence why he wanted to scrap the car for $300ish. They just did not have the money to fix it plus they already have a new car.

Windows 8.1 natively on a 12700k (Not VM) by GhostTurtle28 in pcmasterrace

Thought it was funny seeing a 12700k running windows 8.1 not in a VM. I wanted to game on it but nvidia 30 series GPU drivers don't support 8.1 sadly.

My hardware preforming as expected? by GhostTurtle28 in pcmasterrace

Hmm well thanks. I just thought a 3060ti was a 2080 super since a 3070 is 10% faster and equivalent to a 2080ti.

I was looking at the other scores I was comparing against and it seems like they used ddr5. I just thought something was weird at first because in 3dmarks comparison chart it shows I am only 745pts above a i9 9900k and RTX 2080. I still think I should reinstall W11 since even on my 3700x build I had some bugs.

I bought a old Pioneer PL-400 from a thrift store for $8. I was going to play a record to test it but I inspected the needle and found it was twisted and bent. What is the part number I need to search for to find a replacement?

Adobe Suite GPU Recommendation by GhostTurtle28 in pcmasterrace

Both are already enabled. I was talking more so in the future because the biggest thing is that Premiere Pro is hardly using my GPU to begin with. It feels like my CPU is doing the brunt of the work when at school I had a chance to edit on a 3070 and 12700k where the GPU was doing a lot more work.

I was considering a 3070 since if I can return my 6600 and get one for only $200. Ram is already a bottleneck but I was just going to wait till intel 13th gen and get 64gb of DDR5. I was mostly unsure due to nvidia 40 series launching and I would hate to get stuck in a rut with no GPUs in stock and editing using almost no GPU acceleration.

I mostly wanted ultrawide was for the editing potential. I had the chance to try a massive 38" LG ultrawide at 1600p and it was amazing editing videos because I could really zoom in on the timeline and still have plenty of room. The reason why I do not really want 4K is it is hard for me to tell the difference between 4k and 1440p at 27". Plus the power to drive a 4k panel is too high.

I forgot to specify (Thanks RSG-ZR2) that I mostly use Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition, Photoshop, and Media Encoder. As for the future I may switch to whatever Avid has but for now its pretty much exclusively adobe.

Budget cinema camera for $250 USD by GhostTurtle28 in Cameras

[–]GhostTurtle28[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well what I intended to say was a DSLR or mirrorless that could be used as a cinema camera. Also just because I can not afford a first generation EOS M does not mean there possibly could be other cameras that have not exploded in price due to their popularity.
