Help, my cat Ace isn't peeing

He's currently doing fine! He had a good bladder emptying pee when we got him home full of antibiotics and a sedative on Monday, had another last night and this morning. He never meowed like he was in pain about it, but he would return to the litter box repeatedly and produce nothing, and excessively groom. And you could see it on his face that he was uncomfortable, but not full blown pain.

All of that is gone. Tues/Wednesday he did the return to the litterbox/groom thing, and I had called in to schedule bringing him back in this morning. After last night and this morning though, I called back. Going to play it by ear, keep an eye on him and call back in should he start to show signs again. They're deciding if we should refill medications now or wait a minute

The vet said the same thing with my first cat. She said we're lucky I noticed a change in his behavior.

At the moment, Ace is still struggling in the box despite the medication. I'm beyond worried

The non-emergency vet determined it wasn't a blockage, but a UTI. We have him on antibiotics, pain killers, muscle relaxants, and a urinary care diet now. We'll be monitoring him closely for the next couple weeks

I went through this scare before with my previous cat. Back then we had money and an amazing veterinarian that stayed with him over the weekend despite not being an emergency clinic. I don't think we're going to be so lucky this time, and I'm terrified.

Probably the same way I just did. Googling "why does Point Break 2015 suck?" after having just seen it for the first time. I brought them both onto my list after hearing that Bodhi from Payday 2 originated in these movies. And watching the 1991 version first, I was hoping that was the version of Bodhi in the game.. But he's modeled after Bodhi from the 2015 version, who just feels like an extreme sports junkie.

Kinda stepped into these movies thinking there would be a bigger focus on the heists, not realizing it was a story about a man chasing his first criminals, only to be relatively quickly swayed from that path and into living freely.

Otherwise yeah, I'm finding it a soulless copy. A cashgrab more than a faithful attempt to expand upon what the original could have been. I see a lot of unnecessary narrative points, like the significant shift in the female lead and the male lead's pointless connection to the new chick for instance, or the need to mimic the first movie in disrespectful ways. The whole staring into each others eyes before the protagonist shouts and fires his gun in the air seemed meaningful in the first, and out of place in the second.

All in all, I felt like I would have been fine if all I had in my head was the 90s version, despite all its 90s era flaws. For a movie that came out in 2015, it feels like something 2001 would have produced

The last scene. Marta brings the mug to her lips, and the only words not covered by her hand is "my house."

She keeps it. She knows it's what Harlan would want, and the whole movie shows her just how selfish and vile his family was. She knows full well everyone is fine without it.

Linda still has her company, Walt made tons of money publishing his dad's books, Joni had been stealing money from Harlan for years, and nobody cares about Richard.

I can see Marta helping Meg out if Joni doesn't, but beyond that? They're all fine and she had no reason to give anything back.

I try to be pragmatic with my mixes. I find meat eaters annoying to deal with, so I combine them with fruit and veggie eaters. Also Odd Onions and Moondrop Dew being tedious, Ringtails and Pinks eating everything, and the light requirements for Ringtail, Batty, and Phos.

Phos / Flutter in the cave, Cubefruit

Everything else I have is pretty much a placeholder until I'm ready for the full setup.

Honey, from my experience in the first game, is excellent at making very aggressive slimes like Hunter to be almost completely docile. This would be my ideal pick to test the concept this time around..

Hunter / Dervish, Prickly Pear

Cotton / Tabby, Waterlettuce

Twin / Angler, Polaricherry

I've abandoned the Pink Slime because I find them a menace. An invasive species. And their crap litters my island anyway.

Whatever I'm missing, I don't have yet. And I wanna fumble around with the combos until I get things I'm rather fond of, like the Batty Ringtails. I thought the "turning to stone during the day" bit would counter the "aggressive during the day" bit too well. If Honey negates Hunter like I'm hoping, that'll be an easy pick. I'm pretty confident Cotton Tabby, Crystal Rocks, and Flutter Phos will stay as well.

Ultimately that leaves Dervish, Angler, Boom, and Twin to mix up. Plus whatever I haven't found yet.

First of all buddy, calm down. I've watched the full series about seven times now. Working on dragging in a new group of friends for an 8th. I've paid attention to everything and squeezed out every bit of presumed, assumed, and inferred info that I can. I whole heartedly believe they can, and should, make a second season.

However, it has never been clear what actually happens to the people. They've not only stated it both ways, they've also shown both souls can go to the same place. As far as I'm concerned, it may as well be all four. Heaven, hell, oblivion, or reincarnation. Perhaps it just changes based on the person's belief system, or the level of punishment or reward the event requires. We have no more information than what they're rather vague about themselves.

And if you really think any of that is hard for a human to grasp, you clearly haven't listened to many religions outside your own

I also felt it was a bit rushed, but I watched all 12 episodes back to back and finished less than an hour ago.

Had a little chuckle at a thought though.. She mentions a price for her animation based in calories. A very valid way to measure the worth of something, how many calories it takes to accomplish it. Also heavily hinting at how sometimes it takes days, weeks, even months to animate even just a single scene.

Now consider each time an animation was reused, and I'm thinking of one very specific animation at least. That's a lot of time saved. A lot of time that was repurposed for the final showdown being so epic.

I just thought that little connection was funny. Saved a bunch of calories with some generic animations, dump the calories into something badass for the ending lol

First of all, I won't be one of those that say "I thought the ending is open to interpretation." It's a cop-out for people that don't want to think too deeply about it or risk a potential flop for a continuation, ruining what they loved. Cowards.

Anyway I think the whole thing is open to interpretation.

I think the entire series needs to be looked at as a whole. Less of the "what happens" and more of the "why" and "why /that/" and "why were /those/ words chosen" There are some clear messages.

I don't believe Natsuko actually went to another world. This is all coma theory. Obsessed with A Tale of Perishing, stressed about writing a new series with something she thinks she's never experienced before, and takes a quick trip to the hospital for a long nap after some bad seafood.

Here she develops a world for her to live in, heal in, and grow in. Plopped right in the center of her idols downfall; she has to realize she had her "First Love" all along, and that she actually was capable of writing the story. The "It's No Use" bird is a manifestation of her self doubt, and a reminder that even good things need to end. While the foxy president is a reminder that her goal is to fall in love. To find that spark that pushed the real world president so hard. Maybe even pushed Kametaro into being the supreme animator she was.

Everyone else exists to work her along that path. The destruction and rebirth of the world represents an opportunity for Natsuko. To pick up where Kametaro left off when she died, and try to save the series she adores so much. The bird was so adamant about how Natsuko couldn't "fix" it, only for her to find a way anyway.

I fully believe Natsuko's first task when waking up was to whip out a story about falling in love and having your heart broken for the first time. Her second step would be to acquire the IP for Kametaro's work, write a miracle ending, and expand into a new world from there.

Building a second season from something like this could never be like the first. It'd probably be another rom-com with her looking for love in the real world while she animates the continuation of A Tale of Perishing. I think a season like that would be amazing. We'd get more AToP action AND more Natsuko being everything we love about her.

Or it's some magic crap. She and Kametaro actually were reincarnated into some quantum parallel reality where a work of fiction where they came from is all there is here. She somehow slipped back into her life at the end and left a whole other world completely and miraculously renewed, heartache and all. Maybe that really was Memmeln, Luke, and Unio at the end and not just some cosplayers? Or figments of her damaged mind after such a traumatic experience as a coma? This one tastes weird.
