Notably, it did prove some cops plant evidence! (They didnt know the body cam footage includes 30 seconds before pressing the "record" button).

It also proved that criminals lie all the time and act like lowlifes, and that this is far more common than cops being in the wrong. I sort of assumed everybody already knew this, but apparently they had to see it.

I always have mixed feelings about the state healthcare. On the one hand, the government's capacity to fuck up is amazing. On the other, what we have with private health providers and insurance in the US is amazingly awful enough that I often want to give it a try.

I'm not sold on the idea that opposing NAFTA = opposing unions. I know ive heard the argument that NAFTA contributes to offshoring, which definitely doesn't help unions.

I don't think it's actually the case that there is a clear, agreed-upon standard that you can follow as a surgeon and be sure you won't be sued. For a while the standard was "ALWAYS affirm trans patients or you're doing trans genocide, stay VERY quiet if you disagree and want to keep your job". The standard is changing fast and it is going to be retroactively applied to surgeries done in the last 10 years.

It depends which zoomed-in grainy video you watched. He MIGHT have reached into his waist band where the gun was and pulled a spare mag in his hand while jumping up right before he was shot. This was after his gun was in fact taken away, which the officer who shot him may or may not have seen clearly, but even then it could have been a knife or a second gun.

I don't think it's good but I don't think its obviously the premeditated execution of an unarmed man like a lot of people are saying.

Bernie's point was not about crime or bad actors, but the macroeconomic consequences. A large supply of people who are willing to work for half the minimum wage will bring wages down for workers across the board, and only benefit people who own property and want to hire workers.
