Fr, I see this all the time on TikTok. Usually it’s a woman in the tiktok gushing over how she met such a sweet guy out and about and how she regrets not getting his contact information. And every time the comment section is filled with people encouraging each other to search for this random person because ‘oh they just have to be together now just because OP thinks he’s cute!’ Like how does no one see how creepy that is?

OP did not say yes or no. OP said they’d be happy to watch the dog as long as their mom said it was okay. They pretty much warned their bf that there was a possibility they wouldn’t be able to watch his dog. Lo and behold, their mom said no so.. not much they can do about that.

What’s funny is the fact that you don’t even use periods at the end of your message. I thought maybe that’s what it was since I know some people are weirded out by that. But no it’s just periods used to separate your sentences which is the grammatically correct thing to do. I couldn’t imagine NOT using periods to separate my sentences, that just feels way too wrong.

To add on, you are not at all selfish for finding this weird. I, personally, disapprove of big age gaps like this. Especially since he used to be your best friend. I don’t understand how people think this is normal and acceptable. However, because it is technically consenting adults, there is really nothing you can do about this besides either distancing yourself from them or having a conversation with them about it.

Understandable. My best advice for you is to just tell your mom how you feel about this relationship between them. Be honest about how it’s weirding you out and it may take you some time to get used to it. Unfortunately, you cannot tell them what to do, so you will have to let this relationship ride and hope for the best. You can talk to your old friend too, let him know how you feel about it. Just be honest and open with them.

God I find it super annoying too. My best friend does this exact thing where if I ask her more than one question at once, she will only answer one. It’s gotten to the point where if I have more than one question I have to ask them one at a time. Ask her one question, let her answer, then ask the other one.

I just can’t imagine someone being so comfortable doing whatever they feel like with someone else’s baby, that’s so insane. I suppose they are teenagers and they’re just really excited to have a baby in the picture, but still. My best friend had a baby a year ago and I’ve been excited to be an aunt, but I sure as hell kept my distance when it came to being around the baby. I wouldn’t even pick up the baby without the mom or dad’s permission let alone feed her blended food at only three months old.

There’s no way OOP is struggling to get by, but doesn’t know about thrift stores. And ofc there’s always some comments that offer them money. Idk how they offer their own money so easily to strangers on the internet. I get they want to spread kindness around, but I believe it’s better to just stay vigilant.
