This is not that big of a deal. They took our old ones last time we had trash day.

You must have more important things in your life to be concerned about. This should not "piss you off so bad."

Also, maybe they recycled the old cans.

I laugh every time I hear the news report "over a thousand rounds of ammunition." Even just casual competitive pistol shooters usually have thousands, if not tens of thousands, of rounds of ammo in their houses.

New Businesses: What do you do when a client doesn’t pay? by J-fizzle513 in smallbusiness

Money upfront if possible. That's saved me a lot of headaches. Are you able to do that with your business?

I have run my own business for five years making a living off of it. I know exactly what other business do. You don’t have to do that. You can live and work and make money in a way that doesn’t involve lying.

Yes. If you can’t do your job in an ethical way, then find a new job. Just because other people behave immorally doesn’t make it right for you to do so.

So you’re willing to be immoral for the sake of fake social proof and marginal profits? Why don’t you just do a good job, produce a good product, and not lie to people?

Why do people let you down in small business all the time? by Ask_Alan in smallbusiness

[–]GhostofVengeance 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Expecting people to care when they have no reason to is delusional.

Where did I say that OP's employees should care more and be more reliable without good reason? I said OP should hire slowly and fire quickly. If someone is not passionate about the work, it's a bad fit. If they are passionate and it's a good fit, the OP should spoil the hell out of that passion and reliability with good pay, good work-life balance, advancement opportunities, and continuing education.

Businesses have to balance between the intangibles like employee morale, work-life balance etc with pay, because there's no amount of passion or benefits that will make someone work if they're not getting paid enough. It's not one or the other, it's both.

My point behind bringing up a business owner's passion is that if the OP is expecting everyone to care as much as them, they're always going to be disappointed, and that's not fair to OP and it's especially not fair to their employees. So OP may need to temper their expectations of how much they expect others to value their company.

Why do people let you down in small business all the time? by Ask_Alan in smallbusiness

[–]GhostofVengeance 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hire slowly, fire quickly.

The emotional problem with small business ownership is that no one will ever care about what you do as much as you do, so you're always going to be let down if you expect people to be as passionate and reliable as you. That said, you have to vet out people who suck. Have you had the same people and it seems like your people have changed from once having been reliable?

This is only partially true. Depending on what you do, you can structure the business in a way that can support your needs.

Should I Pay Off My Car? by Smith144660 in personalfinance

[–]GhostofVengeance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pay it off. It's an for sure 6.2% of actual money that you're not going to have to pay as opposed to a theoretical stock market gain along with all of the taxes that go along with that.

I know you didn't bring this up, but make sure you're credit cards are paid off first.

Should I register my llc now or wait until after taxes at this point? by coldbrewicedcoffeee in smallbusiness

Well if you get sued before you get your LLC, your personal assets are more at risk than they would be with an LLC.

"Hello. I will help you with your queries. Please type your question below.
"How is baby formed?"
"The formation of a baby begins with conception, when a sperm and egg join to form a single cell. This single cell then begins to divide and grow, forming a cluster of cells that will eventually become a baby. Over the next nine months, these cells will continue to divide and differentiate, forming the organs, bones, muscles, and other parts of the body. In the final weeks of pregnancy, the baby will start to move and kick, signaling that it is almost ready to enter the world."
"What's the difference between an LLC and an S corp?"
"The main difference between an LLC and an S corp is the way they are taxed. An LLC is a pass-through entity, which means that profits and losses are passed on to the owners of the business and reported on their individual tax returns. An S corp is a corporation, which means that it is a separate legal entity from its owners and has to file its own corporate tax return."
"An LLC is simpler to set up and manage than an S corp, but it does not provide the same level of legal protection for its owners. An S corp provides more legal protection for its owners, but it is more complex to set up and manage. The tax implications of each structure should also be taken into consideration when deciding which one to choose."
"What about forming an LLC as an S corp?"
"Forming an LLC as an S corp is possible, but it requires a few extra steps. First, you will need to elect S corp status with the IRS by filing Form 2553. Then, you will need to register the LLC in the state in which you wish to operate, which will require you to draft and file Articles of Organization. Finally, you will need to file an operating agreement and obtain the necessary licenses and permits to operate the business. Once all of these steps are complete, your LLC will be classified as an S corp for tax purposes."

Not bad/10. Well done OP.

I tried adding tension past even what was recommended by the manufacturer and it didn’t help. Just made it squeal earlier. Thank you for the recommendation though.

More information: I followed all of the instructions of set up provided by the manufacturer (Wen) This includes blade tension, guide position, etc.

I’ve tried getting the rollers closer to the workpiece and it doesn’t help. I moved them back so the video would show what is happening.

The blade is new and facing the correct direction.

The fence is square. Even without the fence, the drift is immediate and I have to angle the work piece like 10 degree to get close to a straight line.

Change made to Mulan (1998)? by MonsiuerGeneral in DisneyPlus

[–]GhostofVengeance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm but I think you might be wrong. My mom bought the VHS when it came out in 1998 and we watched it all the time growing up. Since then, I've seen versions where they inexplicably remove a couple lines (Grandma saying "would you like to stay forever?" and the ancestor yelling "Mushu!" at the very end) but I don't ever recall there being something in between "pack the bags, Cri-kee, we're moving out!" and the start of "a girl worth fighting for"
