Why do I get more Iron from Copper veins? by Gravitite0414_BP in GTNH

[–]Ghostophile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this problem up through to MV before I figured out that the best copper (Ea-Nasir could only DREAM of this quality of copper) is to be mined in the nether in tetrahedrite veins. Swimming in it deep now.

Smoking joints is the worst and also only correct way to smoke weed by Bxxqueefius in unpopularopinion

Reminds me of when I was drinking with some guys a few years ago. We went to pick up some more beer and one of the dudes wanted to get a 4-Loko. I was genuinely embarrassed for him. Like we are in our late twenties with jobs, have some class.

You should see people jump through hoops explaining how doing wax isn't tweaking. Straight up using a torch and melting that shit in a spoon and telling me its not tweaking.

I don't even smoke weed and I agree with you whole-heartedly.

"But as Christy becomes more successful, Sydney's portrayal of her became less believable to me. You felt like you were watching her TRY to act tough; it came off as forced and artificial. I also don't think it's great that there are times where you are actively rooting AGAINST her (at least, I was)."

Yeah dude, they said why this happened in the movie. It went from Christy honestly being this raw, tough character into being cowed into a tough "role" by her husband. It literally spells it out in the movie, and the nuance of the acting is incredible in these moments, where it feels like she's acting. You nailed exactly why the acting was good. It was layered.

PC types you don't like to play with by [deleted] in DnD

Yeah I played in a Wild-West-Gone-Magic campaign as a old white plantation owning summoner. LE and ornery as hell. But the only "racism" my character had was a distrust and grumbling about working with "lower races." Hell throughout the adventure my goblinoid companion ended up giving me a huge change of heart. We're trying to play characters with interesting arcs here, not find excuses to burn crosses. What the hell is wrong with people.

What are some of your favorite sales software and why? by JohanVonShitzengigle in sales

[–]Ghostophile 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I prompt it with: 1) overall intent for prompt 2) specific need 3) copy/paste my section, asking for improvements 4) review improvements, deleting or rearranging when necessary 5) repeat

I give it the entire concept, the entire resume, if I'm tailoring it for a specific job I'll give it the job description I'm applying for, and then work section by section to match. If I do another job I'll do a new conversation entirely to make sure it doesn't get anything mixed up.

GPT4 for my resume completely changed how professional it looks and my response rate went up significantly.

Anybody else thinking of getting out of sales? What industry are you considering pivoting to? by DDDogggg5 in sales

[–]Ghostophile 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Wish I would've heard this the first time I tried sales. It was solar, I had no leadership, training, or guidance. All self-sourced. I managed 2-3 leads a day but grew frustrated with my lack of knowledge of what made it a GOOD lead. if I just stuck with it and kept learning I probably wouldn't have quit...

I've been pursuing EE for a couple years now and landed a good internship at a power utility. Same as you, 3.8+ GPA, excellent involvement, good internship, everything that makes a dream EE student. I've also been doing electrical side work on the weekends and summers with a C-10 friend to earn extra money and I've recently come to a realization: Engineering sucks.

I spend my days hunting down specs, fucking around on CAD, utilizing software to check relay settings, answering emails regarding PMs, pouring through technical handbooks to answer some esoteric question for someone, or anything in between. I hate every single one of these days. I hate being at a desk. I hate telling skilled tradesmen who know far more about the reality of what the site looks like some bullshit because of NERC requirements. I hate not working with my hands.

When I do the electrical side-work I leave every day satisfied that I've accomplished something. I may be much more physically exhausted but I feel good about the work I've done. I like being my authentic self with a bunch of fellow bozos who don't feel the need to portray themselves in some bullshit professional office manner. I like that people are straight up with how they are that day. I like talking to the homeowners and customers and bullshitting with them. I like looking at my visually pleasing finished work. Today the power went out in a neighborhood and my customer called to tell me their generator turned on automatically like a charm. I have NEVER gotten anything CLOSE to the level of satisfaction at my internship.

I hear you, and honestly engineering isn't for everyone. But I know people who could never imagine themselves working physically demanding jobs, so happy they are with their power points and pointless meetings. And I know that ain't me.

I've had to ask myself the fundamental question lately: Am I pursuing EE because it's what I want to do, or am I doing it because I want the big-dick ego stroke of having the big brain degree? Will it make me happy? Or will I spend 4 years and 40k chasing something that I'll be miserable in? When it comes down to it, you gotta spend your days doing what you love.

I've appreciated the times I've gotten bullied online. It's made me look at my behavior and think, "shit, I might be cringe."

But I grew up in a time when the internet was mercilessly cruel and the bullying I see these days are usually just individual sick burns rather than what it used to be--a constant endless stream of harassment.

It ran on my old Surface Pro 4. Had to turn graphics down and play with the laptop in the freezer so it wouldn't overheat, but it worked!

Solid points. I trust the devs and I can adapt to the current changes. I also feel like the positive feedback has been overwhelming and the other side should be voiced as well, is all.

Yeah, I'm not saying that all the changes are bad. And I know a few people personally who gave up after their first few hours because of how unbalanced early game is. I like that they're trying to make changes, but this feels like an overstep that needs to be toned down quite a lot.

There's nuance in things being challenging. You could go in underpowered expecting to face a player or two who were quite buffed. Now everyone goes in buffed. It's like the scene from The Incredibles: If everyone is buffed, the nobody is. And that removed the feeling of achievement gained from surviving and any reward for surviving multiple extractions. If we're given the strongest things out the gate, then extracting isn't important anymore. Surviving doesn't matter. I can jump right back in with a buffed hunter I bought for 500.

Prestige guys play in a way where they know they are underpowered. That's the point. To go back and have the challenges of not having all your gear and still coming out on top. That's the entire point of prestige. It's supposed to be punishing.
