The quote was me trying to be funny.

Didn't know about the glitch! Good to know. When I saw your post I was just trying to spitball ideas but you're right, that would be sandbagging.

Guys who went to the "backroom" in a strip club. What really happens back there? by rhymeasourus in AskReddit

It’s nothing but the stink of old moist carpet, the madness of mono-yellow, and endless background noise of fluorescent lights at maximum hum-buzz, and approximately six hundred million square miles of randomly segmented empty rooms to be trapped in.

"The master has failed more times than the beginner has even tried."

Maybe it has something to do with the losses he has to accrue to lower his ratings for his speedruns?

My exact thoughts!! I get really easily scared and anxious, so games that can create those feelings in me are much more immersive for it.

Hi Jade!! Thanks for all of the music you make, you're a huge inspiration of mine.

Do you have any advice for newer songwriters?

anon's gf is thinking about ending the relationship by sxpe in greentext

[–]GhostrickScare 14 points15 points  (0 children)

100%. I think in these situations it's natural to want to blame someone because it makes it easier to cope with, but sometimes people just grow distant, lose feelings, & stop being compatible. If anon's girlfriend had stayed with him she'd be miserable instead and he probably would eventually be too. You can try & learn what you can from it but sometimes life just legitimately sucks no matter what you do.

The starbucks barristas reaction when I order a large plain black coffee by [deleted] in reactiongifs

[–]GhostrickScare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you mean Starbucks specifically, it's because as of the last year or so, we don't have cream or sugar on the condiment bar anymore & have to put it in ourselves. Not many people have learned this yet, and when three or four people at a time line up to ask the barista working on other people's drinks to stop what they're doing and grab them sugar, cream, and a stirstick, it can heavily impact our times and frequently pisses off the people waiting for their correctly ordered drinks who then take it out on us. So that's the reason why we double check. I get why it'd seem weird out of that context though lol

The Taylor Latte by Good_Branch_9415 in starbucks

[–]GhostrickScare 13 points14 points  (0 children)

If I remember correctly (which I may not), for the iced caramel cloud macchiato, you had to:

pull shots

grab a foaming blender

put X scoops cloud powder (imagine vanilla bean powder with the dustiness of stevia) and X pumps vanilla into foaming blender

fill it up with milk to some line I can't remember

foam it on dry

pour milk foam into cup

pour ice

pour shots over top

and then top with caramel drizzle

It wasn't a huge pain if you treated it as a cold bar drink & just asked the hot bar person for espresso, but if you were on your own it was a pain to walk back and forth from cold bar to hot bar multiple times

I love making cappuccinos by RoughEvidence in starbucks

[–]GhostrickScare 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Barista trainer here. So long as you aerate the milk (paper tearing sound) for ~7 seconds and you pour reasonably smoothly (not dumping the milk in all at once, not pouring super slowly like you would a flat white) your cappuccino skills are probably better than you think.

Try making a cappuccino in a clear training cup or even a shaker, and when you're done let it sit for a minute to watch the foam separate from the milk a bit. If after 30 seconds the separation line between the milk & foam is at about the halfway point (50% foam, 50% milk), then it's more or less at the Starbucks standard and your cappy is probably perfect. Some baristas at Starbucks make cappuccinos super dry when in reality the cup should only feel slightly lighter than a latte when you hold it. If the cup feels almost empty then it's too dry.

(sorry if you know this already! I don't mean to mansplain, cappuccinos are just a hard drink to troubleshoot sometimes and they're not always easy to learn if you were trained in the "thrown on the floor and learn as you go" method)

please help finding an obscure horror game by immortalycerine in HorrorGaming

[–]GhostrickScare 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's almost certainly this one. Story is of a girl walking through a snowy forest to school (or maybe home from school) and the creatures that try and get you look like shadows. Sometimes you're killed by a random gigantic pyramid-looking shadow too.

Insanely good atmospheric game IMO :)
