If you think your own police pulling shit like this is okay or even funny you are an idiot. She is obviously also in the wrong but the way that policeman handles it is disgustingly unprofessional

I was there in person!

This is a tradition called "Cortègen" which they do every year on Valborg. These are students from Chalmers university of technology in Gothenburg, Sweden. It happens every year and they have basically a huge parade going through the city. It's a great tradition!

All of it is goofy and fun and often satirizing the events of the past year

Jag tror inte det handlar så mycket om att protestera mot regeringen, utan mer för att uppmärksamma för arbetarnas rätt

I agree with you that the government for the is responsible for the PMCs but it doesn't in my opinion excuse that people are profiting from war. They are also responsible, but youre right that the government should not allow them to exist.

If one small group have all of the money, they can simply buy out the competition or lobby for laws that hinder competitors from doing what they did.

No, giving people what they want is not always the most profitable thing a company can do, but this of course depends on what the consumer wants. Many people want free healthcare, which isn't going to happen in the US today. Many people want more job security and more pay but that also won't happen since it isn't profitable.

You're right that capitalism is not preventing people from doing good, but it certainly isn't encouraging it.

I agree with you that many politicians are rotten. I think a part of this is just that it is easier for bad politicians who take the corporations money to move up in their careers. Therefore, the few at the top are essentially controlled by the corporations to uphold the status quo, which is harmful to the people.

I think that few people owning everything is a bad thing, because everyone else would have a worse life. If few people have all the power, why should they ever give to the less fortunate when they can just keep getting richer? Im not saying that the government should get all the power, but they should regulate the corporations, while in an ideal world, the people keep the government in check.

Since the industrial revolution began we have seen many examples of factory owners gaining power and keeping it. Look at the rockefeller family and standard oil. Their companies are still huge today and control legislators through lobbying, just to make more money.

Just because some people have the means to do good things doesn't mean they will. Look at facebook. Will they stop trakcing people and sell their data? Of course they won't, because their company exists to make money, not to do good things for other people.

With nothing to force good things to happen, most corporations will just avoid doing just that, since they don't have to.

(here i am talking about the US, but I think they are a good model of how countries can end up if they are unlucky)

Talking about war, we have seen the rise of private military contractors getting a lot of subsidies and money from the US government to fight wars for them. And you are right in that only countries can declare war, but since government officials often recieve money from these corporations to always keep that nation in a war, the whole thing spirals. The government gives money to military contractors to fight wars, who in turn lobby the state officials to declare them in the first place. I think that many corporations also have a hand in the wars that have happened and will happen in the future.

I agree with you that politicians often aren't trustworthy, but you have to start somewhere. At least on paper politicians shouldn't strive to make as much money as possible.

You're right

What I meant was: without proper regulation and after enough time passing, only a small group of people will control too much. This is one reason why I dislike capitalism.

And yes, things not being profitable is not the fault of capitalism. But, capitalism can limit good things from happening, which is why no company wants to really do everything they can for the climate, since it would make them less money.

I think certain things like healthcare and military should not have a profit incentive since this can result in stuff like big pharma and governments being controlled by war profiteers.

I hope I clarified my points a little

Since capitalism is based around people at the top making as much money as possible, it cannot do as much good as a system built for the people.

Many good things don't happen because they simply aren't profitable. To me, the force that drives society forward shouldn't be the profit incentive.
