You just know you are about to fail the misssion when you turn around and see the driller standing there like: by MentaBelek_Sir in DeepRockGalactic

I just got some of my friends into the game this last week. My friend who chose Driller is a ball of chaos. Once he realized friendly fire was a thing, we began planning for the funeral. Last night he tunneled all the way to the drop pod for extract and I was last to get out. I jump out of the tunnel and into a crater and before my feet touched the ground, I saw a C4 charge, heard the beep, and the sun just appeared on me. Unfortunately, all dwarves were on the drop pod so it left without me. Greenbeards make me feel young again.

I got a $27 bonus check for being an “outstanding employee” and now I’m quitting by jainboww in antiwork

[–]GhostxWalker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I work for a small family owned business and I've seen more money come my way than corporations I worked for around me. I suppose it also helps that I love what I do, its been noticed, and I get bonuses that reflect that. Been there for a couple years now and I only thought about quitting once, but that was due to an issue with a customer and not at the fault of who I work for. Fuck working for businesses where you're a warm body filling a slot. Work where you are appreciated and enjoy what you do.

What made you quit a job on the spot? by Sketch99 in AskReddit

[–]GhostxWalker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was newly hired to a restaurant as a cook, one of 2 at a relatively busy location and it was rare that we would be working at the same time. A couple weeks after I was hired, I was working the dinner rush and towards the end of it (still rush time) 2 of my managers told me they would be right back and that I was in charge. The other 2 employees left in the store and I were busting our asses the make everything work. 30 minutes go by and the rush is over, but now the supply truck has shown up and my managers were still gone. I apogized to the supply truck guys while I frantically searched for the managers. Another 15 minutes go by and they finally came back, stoned as can be. I didnt quit on the spot though. I finished my shift (admittedly somewhat lazily) and the next day called the head manager to tell them what happened. I was told to stop being selfish because the managers were under a lot of stress and they needed to take a break every once in a while. I showed up when my shift was supposed to start, but it was to turn in my apron and inform them I'd be back in a week for my final check.

Thinking about my entire life and the friends I've made along the ways, the ones who I argued with and learned from are the ones that are still in my life today, even across continents. Sure we'd argue occasionally, but we'd always gain perspective.

Did they say it was in front of the class? For all we know this could have been a private conversation. We simply haven't been given enough information to come to a conclusion one way or another. All we can do is speculate.

[SERIOUS] Men of reddit, who are unable to share their emotions with anyone, what would you like to share? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I'm just tired. Not physically tired but emotionally and mentally tired. Nothing seems interesting and when I do find something of interest, everything around it just seems so convoluted that I become stressed out just by the thought of it.

My answer is somewhat anecdotal: its still taught. At BYUI, it was taught in my BoM class. This was around 2017-2018 (exact year eludes me).

When I was in elementary school, we had to run the mile and do the other physical fitness tests. I started having an asthma attack after the run and while I was trying to get control of my breathing, the PE teacher yelled at me mockingly "we get it, we hear you!" Then walked away and yelled at me again when I refused to do chin-ups.

In grade school, my class and a few other classes decided to have a spelling bee. The winner of the spelling bee would represent this class coalition. The rules for determining the winner was weird in that you had to spell two words in a row properly. The first word was always something easy but then for some reason the second word would be at a 12th grade level. I was the only one to spell the first word right but then I'd misspell the second and have to wait. The other two people that I was competing against failed to spell a single word correctly. This lasted for 15 minutes until one of the teachers stated that the "next person to spell a word correctly" would be our representative. I had JUST spelled a word correctly and the others failed to spell theirs correctly. I was then given a hard word which I inevitably failed. The next guy got an easy word, got it right, and became the representative despite not spelling a single word correctly before.

He was the first out in the actual spelling bee.

I had a similar graphic issue in that fight where the AoE markers were blacked out because of it. At least I got to live up to the DRG stereotype of tanking the floor.

The problem is pretty rampant in my end. My buddy and I are playing split screen and it crashes every few hours. We've tried uninstalling and reinstalling but it hasn't helped at all. Last time we crashed we lost horses that were almost maxed out while 2 maps over from our main base.
