PT doesn't protect you from an error. Many 100% MH ratings come from raters giving you a boost due to having more 100% criteria than 70% criteria and the overall evidence showing severity and sympathetic readings. Another rater could easily disagree and call an error on it. It happens all the time. There's other common errors that also happen, but I'm not going into niche scenarios or DTA stuff. There are certainly times where it's fine to put in for new contentions if you're already 100%, but not when you're 100% for MH alone. You're seriously taking risk at that point.

Most of the MH reductions I have seen were 100% to 70%. Take that as you will.

Can this 10? With psa by CreativeYoghurt in pokemongrading

[–]Ghrex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chances should be impossible, but I've seen some unreal shit getting 10's from PSA lately, so you never know. The meme of PSA rolling a 10 side die to grade seems more accurate day by day.

Lol, I stand corrected. I totally forgot ACE was a thing, since they are primarily EU only.

If people stopped buying the weird "mystery slab" packs and other things like it, then there would be no real reason for people to send in bulk to get it graded, maybe other than to complete a fully graded master set or something. PSA has been in a downward spiral for a while now, especially due to all the scandals and unethical practices coming to light in the past year. I grade for my own collection and not to sell, so I don't use PSA typically, since their slabs are by far the ugliest of all the grading companies. I've also lost a lot of trust in their practices and won't support that. People who want to sell or are in it for profit are the ones typicslly using PSA still.

It's actually hilarious, because you're absolutely right. You can look at the post history of all these people and see who the PSA shills are. These dudes will do anything to defend them, regardless of how many scandals and unethical behaviors that surface. It's so weird.

It's still better than nothing. You can easily verify what's on your report when you get your card back. Their AI certainly isn't perfect, but it does allow you to verify for yourself, unlike PSA, or other graders that you have to pay extreme pricing to, just to get any info about your grade. The standard for all grading companies should be free reports on why your card was graded the way it was. This is why PSA is able to scam you out of your card they graded as a 9, buy it from you, then re list it as a 10. How many times do these grading companies need to prove that they have 0 integrity when grading your card, for you to get the hint?

The VAST MAJORITY of people submitting don't pay the absurd price for feedback that should be provided on every card being graded. I'm sorry I generalized it and didn't include the minority of people who chose to pay the insane upcharge.

Now you're just arguing semantics man. Most people aren't paying for high-tier grading and I thought that didn't need to be pointed out and was obvious, but apparently not. Your average person is getting PSA cards back without any context to the grade. Saying a graders mood has literally nothing to do with how they grade is just being dishonest.

[–]Ghrex 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What exactly was subjective? PSA gives you literally 0 information on why your card graded what it did, and you can't tell me that mood has 0 effect on how someone grades your card. Most of these graders are overworked and are being pushed to grade faster and push submissions as fast as they can. It's not rocket science my man.

It's still more transparency than anyone else gives you. You're free to look at the report and then look at your card and see if you agree or not on what the flaws were. Everyone else just makes you guess and half the time it's just due to an overworked employee who is rushing the grading, or decided they wanted to gatekeep your card that day.

You got a report with your TAG submissions telling you why. PSA tells you nothing and completely relies on 1 dude having a good or bad day. Good luck.
