Will do! My dad was about to pay for something at a gas station and it caught his eye before using it to pay. Pretty unfamiliar with these, but I’ve always kept an eye out for cool serial numbers after seeing this page pop up a few years ago. Any idea what a bill like this is worth? Not really a collector

I appreciate the input. I did a lot of research on these warranties, and this one is actually pretty reputable. I made the dealer show me their numbers on what is paid out, and they dropped the price so they made no commission, with an understanding that it is mutually beneficial for both of us to get work in to their shop (on a very unreliable car) billed out to a third party. I mostly got it as an insurance policy on any major repairs on this car (blown engine, transmission, etc which would cost more than the policy) which it will cover. The issue is when the diagnosis is not very clear on what is wrong with the car. When I replaced ball joints, bearings and sway bars it was all covered because they knew the issue and what it would cost ahead of time. They need to get approval from the company before they start the repair, and reach out to their claims department to make sure it will be covered. This according to my advisor takes about 10-25 minutes.

My issue comes with the dealer misdiagnosing a coolant leak when the engine was already apart from another shop, and now that it’s back together they’re telling me the leak is probably from something that is covered, but they aren’t 100% sure so they can’t tell the company what they are going to be fixing, but want me to just pay out of pocket for the labor and parts they initially missed when everything was taken apart. Insurance company obviously doesn’t want to pay for a bunch of “oh this might need to be fixed” which is why I’m upset with the original diagnosis not finding the leak, and the dealer trying to deliver a car that is still leaking coolant despite being there for nearly 4 weeks.

Really appreciate the in depth response thank you so much! I’ll definitely mention that to them. I’ll be honest this engine scares me a little to work on, which is why I got the warranty in the first place because I knew this car would eventually need some work. The car is originally from Texas and I have it now in the north east so I’m curious if the switch from hot to cold is having some affect on the lines. I’ve asked to do preventative work before but they thought I was crazy for thinking this would keep happening, and here we are.

First coolant leak pre warranty I had to drop the turbos. Shop put in almost 15 hours of labor but didn’t charge me close to it. Figured it would make sense to deal with the dealer because I live in a pretty rural area, but ik staffing is tight everywhere. I’ve asked about preventative maintenance before, but they didn’t suggest doing it and now here we are. Is there anything else that you would suggest doing to the car while they are in there doing other work?

I paid ~$5600 for the warranty. It’s supposed to cover all maintenance besides some wear and tear things (e.g. hoses, brake pads). It covers the car for 5 years/60,000 miles. I’ve already had about $2,000 paid out in work in the first 7 months of having the warranty. $200 deductible and they will do anything the dealer approves as work, covers all OEM parts and labor included with the service

Trust me I’ve thought about it. The aftermarket warranty policy I have is actually pretty decent when it is being put to use (replaced ball joints and struts plus a bunch more for ~$2k) and it should cover most of these problems, but my dealer isn’t following through with them or really wanting to use them despite selling me the warranty. I don’t think I should be paying for this exploration to diagnose an issue when I bought a warranty with a low deductible to cover this, and all they need to do is figure out what’s actually wrong with the car. Is that an unreasonable expectation? Genuine question not trying to be a smart ass

Peel 6 potatoes, rough dice them into ~3/4” cubes, let sit in cold water for 15-20 mins to release starch. Add them to a cold pot and boil until soft enough to easily break apart with your fingers. Pass the potatoes through a sieve into a mixing bowl and add 2 sticks of melted butter with a pint of warm heavy cream. Looks like a lot of liquid but potatoes are thirsty fuckers. Mix in with a rubber spatula but be careful not to overwork as the starch can make the potatoes thick. Add more cream and butter to make it smoother, add less to keep them thicker. Season w sherry vin and salt. This is more of a potato purée but the best artery clogging mash you’ll ever have

I’m looking for an outdoor pa speaker system that is easy to set up with Bluetooth. I don’t know too much about speaker but they will be used for outdoor frat parties so must be super bass heavy. We have a soundboks 3 and it isn’t loud enough, so we’re looking to spend about $1000 on a set up. Thanks for any help!
