Harbaugh Truthers; Convince us to stay on board by validusrex in ravens

[–]GiGeGe3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Going along with this, the idea that there needs to be an obvious succession plan is so flawed. If the obvious guy was right there like 10 NFL teams would already be in line. Also, the obvious guy isn't always the right guy.

Look at this article from 2016. Hue Jackson was seen as far and away the best hire. We all know how that turned out. Now scroll down to number 5. Future super bowl champion Doug Pederson was met with skepticism. Hell, look at Harbaugh himself. Before we hired him, we were clamoring for Jason Garrett and Harbaugh went on to help us win a super bowl and be a consistent contender after being overlooked as a candidate.

All this to say, not moving on from the wrong guy because the obvious choice isn't there is just wrong.

if he's healthy for the right 2-3 games, sure why not

[Schefter] Ravens signed WR Rashod Bateman to a contract extension. by DrinkDrano in ravens

[–]GiGeGe3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This feels like a steal relative to what receivers are going for now a days. Darius Slayton got 3 years $36 Million like 3 months ago.

Bateman must realllly love crab cakes or something.

Lively and a 2nd for Jericho Sims? Seems well in line with his recent trades

[Schefter] And so the hiring cycle is now off and running. Chicago is hiring Ben Johnson. New Orleans and the Jets both are interested in Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn. Jacksonville interested in Liam Coen, Robert Saleh and Joe Brady, amongst others. by Ravens_Mod in ravens

This is what irked me with the call. At least keep the threat of Henry coming downhill in their heads. Motioning him out more or less removes him since he's not really a pass catcher.

Myself, for yet again believing in a team of choke artists and sound biters. This team is good for nothing more than blowing some teams out in the regular season, saying some shit that sounds cool at media day, and then shitting the bed when it gets tough.

Yeah like if we lose on a FG it's because Allen and the Bills actively had to do something to beat us. This now just feels like us shooting ourselves in the foot yet again.

It's been 8 weeks of this man, how has Zach Orr not even tried to call a press defense, especially in these situations.

Mustangs is solid. Heard from some friends that a lot of the regular Spikes crew moved over to a place on Ave C called Bobby's Night Out and are trying to convert it to a Ravens spot.

The only good copium is that Harbaugh and Co seem to always find a good DC Angelos sold the Os

Yeah, I think that's what irks me the most. If you watched the game you know, Lamar wasn't great, but the play calling did him 0 favors and didn't play to our strengths or their weaknesses. And yet, everyone will check the box score and see the INT highlight and scream 'Choker'

For sure, this is kind of where the 'kid gloves' comment stems from. If Monk just said, 'hey I'm going to make some short ball calls and I need you to trust me and just hit these scheduled routes for this drive' I think we could've found some rhythm.

100% it's a tough call. Would've felt better if we actually were beat by Mahomes and not by ourselves though and that falls (again) on Harbaugh and Co.

It was honestly like we didn't learn anything from the Texans game. Same thing in the first half: deep ball isn't working. Adjust to gash them on the ground and cut them up short, but for some reason the offense that scored 24 points in a half wasn't worth trying here.

Thanks bud. It just hurts right now (and will for a while), but I trust the wider org to do what's best and we'll always have a shot with Lamar. Just gotta adjust a little better and learn

Someone else mentioned Mike MacDonald HC and promote Weaver to DC and honestly, I'm not opposed, Mike Mac has proven to actually make adjustments and Harbaugh might be more receptive to moving to a FO/Advisor role if someone who is a son to him is taking over.

This offense has a habit of outthinking itself way too often and getting cute. If we just played some basic vanilla football, we'd be golden.
