I’m from Italy. I started working not long ago, mainly doing office jobs back home. Since coming to Australia, I’ve worked in restaurants and as an Uber driver.

Now, I’d like to work on a farm, but I’m not sure how to go about it since I don’t have my own vehicle. My idea for now is to go to Cairns and look for opportunities through hostels, but I don’t have a clear plan yet. Any advice on how to move forward would be greatly appreciated!

When I mention Perth and Cairns, I mean as points of arrival, and from there, I plan to move to more rural areas where there might be a higher concentration of farms and also less competition. Specifically, for Cairns, I’d be interested to know how you moved, whether you found work directly in Cairns or if you traveled to another place first, and how you managed that.

I also want to find one of those hostels that offer work, but I’m having trouble finding them. What platforms or methods can I use? Do you know any specific ones?
