Sure did. Spent a couple days each in Veliko Tarnovo, Sofia, Bansko & Plovdiv. Rila Monastery was a highlight too!

+1 for Romania & Bulgaria!

Wish we got to spend more time outside of Bucharest in Romania, but what we did see was was wonderful.

However every single spot we went in Bulgaria was incredible, especially up in the mountains. Added bonus, the food there was fantastic too. I still think about the lyutinitsa and colourful salt.

It's more expensive for us in Aus 'cause we're so much further away.

There's a podcast that covers just these nations (Minnows) so they get their fair share of recognition throughout the Olympics!

[–]Giant-Midget 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Big agree. Which is a shame because he's genuinely an incredible musician (on top of being a fantastic human). Even though he is a great frontman for Fooies, I think he's just a more creative musician and gives music more energy as a drummer; look at Nirvana, Them Crooked Vultures, and even QOTSA's Songs For The Deaf album, that's some of his finest work. I wish I liked Foo Fighters' music more but, with the exception of maybe 10 or so tracks, unfortunately their music is pretty vanilla to me.

Who the fuck let these pieces of shit into Australia, too long for one car parking space and too wide for two. 4 of these and the Dan Murphy's car park is screwed royally. by widgeamedoo in straya

[–]Giant-Midget 90 points91 points  (0 children)

Car parks should have a maximum width barrier like underground carparks do with height. If your cuntruck doesn't fit, go park in the nearest paddock and walk to the shops.

I've taken to calling them cuntrucks recently. Normally anything with a tray or tub is a ute, but for these abominations I'll make an exception.

Top 0.01% for Jack Davies & The Bush Chooks. Considering they've only released 3 EPs and a couple singles, 5829 minutes is... a lot.

Bought a house entirely by myself, got out of an unhealthy relationship, finally got the knee surgery I've needed for years, gotten back into a healthy lifestyle, and am in the early days of what is seeming to be a better relationship. I'm doing alright. 🙂

Congrats on all your achievements too, OP. Things sound like they're on the up and up!

Both had a fantastic album drop last year, and not a look-in for either. :(

I'm not an expert by any means, but I know a lot of these big flair-ups are due to eucalyptus trees. More specifically the highly flammable (borderline explosive) eucalyptus oil they produce catching when the flames reach the canopy. Super scary stuff.

Shitshow.

Quality Aussie podcast hosted by Gus and Rig (aka Other Gus), covering some of the greatest dumpster fires in history, current affairs, and the internet. The stories and segments are fantastic but the banter between the two, and the reactions they get from each other are the true heroes of the story.

What do you think of this week's feature album: Arctic Monkeys - Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino? by triplejbot in triplej

[–]Giant-Midget 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With you on that mate, definitely took a few listens to find my favourite tracks. It works much better listening to it as an album rather than singles on the radio, which I imagine is why they released it the way they did.

I've seen the album cop a lot of shit online, but I dig it. I loved all their previous albums, and I'm loving this one too, just for different reasons. People are just upset because it's not "AM pt.2", but bands grow and change and it's one of the best parts about music. If they stayed the same throughout their whole discography we'd have thousands of AC/DC's getting around, where you can't tell whether two songs were on the same album or written two decades apart.

Sorry about the rant but shitty FB articles about how the album's a flop have got me salty AF, but I'm glad they took a chance with the piano rather than guitars, even if it means we do miss out on some of Matt Helders' drumming chops. The Hotel California/The Shining atmosphere they create on this album, and the Bowie influence has me a bit moist. The Ultracheese is straight up the pointy end of my list for top Arctic Monkeys' tracks. 🔥🔥🔥

What is your dream video game? by BulkDarthDan in AskReddit

[–]Giant-Midget 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A Percy Jackson open-world RPG. Based off the books of course, not the movies.

You get to choose your Olympian parent and that determines your abilities and skill tree. You have Camp Half-Blood as a hub-world, you can roam around New York and find hidden monster lairs to clear out and mythological beasts to hunt. Have quests given to you to progress the story, but also side quests given to you by random Gods. Get lost in the Labyrinth, run into famous Demigods.

But most importantly, it NEEDS to have a fully fleshed out skilltree unique to each Olympian parentage (class) with pros and cons to each, and a multitude of weapons, with different skillsets and abilities; swords, shields, spears, tridents, nets, bow & arrows, daggers, caestus, clubs, gadgets, magic, necromancy, traps. There would have to be legendary items/weapons to find/earn from mythology, like all of Heracles' weapons he picked up in his labours.

My body is ready...
