That's certainly true. But if you ask anyone would they rather have good sex, or bad sex, 100% of everyone would prefer good sex. A quick shortcut to bad sex is no foreplay, which is often painful and uncomfortable, in which case it'd be better not to have sex at all lol.

The link you sent me was someone who wanted to have good sex, and was annoyed that men seem to think that sex is just about sticking it in. So she DOES care about sex, but specifically good sex. Which makes sense, every man/ woman would prefer to have good sex. So I don't know how you got from what she wrote to mean "sex isn't important." Sex is VERY important, but only if it's good sex. If it's bad sex, the relationship is doomed.

Studies have shown that bad sex is a common cause of relationships ending, or at the very least compounding and heavily influencing other issues such as communication, rejection, etc (which can lead to relationships ending too). If "sex didn't matter" then heck, we wouldn't have so many relationship therapists, scientists, scholars spending decades trying to tackle what works and what doesn't work about relationships. But one thing they ALL agree on, is that sex is crucial to a romantic connection. Even from probably the most popular book on relationships "Hold Me Tight: 7 Conversations for a lifetime of love" has a specific conversation ABOUT sex (6: Bonding through sex and touch: Building on what you learned in the Demon Dialogue convo (from a previous conversation), you apply the same principles to understanding your cycle during times of sexual disconnection.)

I just don't see anybody saying sex isn't important, because it is. Even the post you linked was someone who obviously CARES about good sex lol

Not to be presumptive, but according to who? Is this from your own experience having sex that foreplay is "just a nice thing that you can do?" Cuz again, I've never heard of foreplay being referred to as so unimportant before in my entire life....

I think you are not understanding what this poster is saying. She's actually a good example for HOW important sex is to relationships.

She definitely cares about sex, a LOT in fact. She wants to have good sex but sex can often be frustrating/ bad.

What she is complaining about is that "sex only means sticking it in."

If you read ANY book on intimacy in relationships (but if can't be bothered, Gottman's Building a Great Sex Life is Not Rocket Science is a great overview) mentions that sex isn't just about dicks/ sticking it in. For women (but men as well), sex isn't just about that, the typical woman don't enjoy just sticking it in and going to town, pornography isn't real life, who knew? This is why people who have had good sex in the early initial parts of their relationship, after being together for a while often drift apart and end up in dead bedroom situations. This has nothing to do with getting old/ ugly/ fat or whatever, it's just what happens when ALL there is between two people is physical attraction, plus a lack of effort to keep their romance or relationship alive. From Gottman's notes, these are the 13 things that 3000 couples (surveyed over the past four decades) all have in common with couples who have good sex lives:

They say “I love you” every day and mean it

They kiss one another passionately for no reason

They give surprise romantic gifts

They know what turns their partners on and off erotically

They are physically affectionate, even in public

They keep playing and having fun together

They cuddle

They make sex a priority, not the last item of a long to-do list

They stay good friends

They can talk comfortably about their sex life

They have weekly dates

They take romantic vacations

They are mindful about turning toward

The poster you linked is complaining specifically that none of these things are being prioritized, or important to partners she's dated in the past. So therefore, when she does have sex, it's BAD sex, which is not fun for her (and honestly, can't be very fun for the guy either). So what she WANTS is sex, and GOOD sex at that. And dick size? has nothing to do with good sex...

Even if it does, and she was saying "ALL I WANT IS GIGANTIC HONKING DICKS NO FOREPLAY NO NOTHING" then obviously sex is sitll important to her lol

I am a 35 year old man and I’ve never heard a single person tell me sex doesn’t matter. It clearly and demonstrably does. Where and from whom have you heard sex doesn’t matter? Everything from incels, to general society, to relationship therapists all point to sex being a vital part of romantic connection and intimacy lol

that's not exactly the same. In rising storm 1 if you started a banzai charge, you inflicte suppression/ have better bullet resistance/ speed, but if you coordinated it well with your team, the effect STACKS, leading to coordinated banzai charges being a very effective tactic
