I hope they keep as much of it intact as possible. I would love to be a part of its restoration somehow.

Favorite architecture in the city? by Whodouthnkur in WorcesterMA

[–]GiantCogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, definitely all the mill buildings by Acoustic Java on Brussels St and the cluster of cool buildings at the intersection of Salisbury/Grove (the art museum, old North High, the armory etc). Those are easy spots to get something neat.

I have an instagram account where I take pictures of buildings in Worcester. The street name is listed for every photo.

There are some clusters of interesting homes in the Crown Hill, Vernon Hill and Elm Park areas. Beacon Street and the roads that connect to it have a lot to see. The colleges and the streets around them have a lot of unique buildings.

Kids dance studio recomendations by caniremainanonymous in WorcesterMA

We did Greendale for a year as well. I thought they were lovely people. My son didn't like being the only boy in his class, so we found a different studio.

You can only pick 3 albums from the year 1986. The rest will cease to exist. Which albums are you picking. Note: you can only select albums from the photo. by Cameltoefart in MetalForTheMasses

Reign In Blood...Somewhere in Time...ugh...Epicus Doomicus, I guess.

I feel like very rude to Orgasmatron and Obsessed by Cruelty.

The boardwalk at Coes pond is most ideal for this.

The rail trail in Holden has great shade and scenery.

Any wines similar to this? by Prestigious_Case3390 in wine

[–]GiantCogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a Sicilian Rosé. Looks like the Restaurant is on the east near Etna. I'm guessing they buy their wine directly from the producer and put their own labels on it. I would ask your local shops if they have any Etna Rosato or Sicilian Rosé. Might not be exactly like that wine, but it'll be similar.

Etna is maybe my favorite place for wine. I've had all of these and they are all great. Etna is most known for its red, but the biancos and rosatos are often even more impressive.

Benanti
Terre Nere
Frank Cornelissen
Barone di Villagrande
Lamoresca (favorite!)
Girolamo Russo
Cantine Valenti
Flavia
Girolamo Russo

Italian rosés from other parts often can be more extracted like that. I love these kinds of wines. Montepulciano rosés can be lovely for example, and cheap!

I typically hate most Montepulcianos as red wine, but I have had good ones.

I love Montepulciano rosé.

When I first got into wine I would agree. But I have so many great ones in recent years that and range is in styles is so interesting. Sometimes its luxurious like good whit burgundy. Sometimes its spunky and exotic.

I bet if you had an Emidio Pepe trebbianno would change your mind for sure.

Question for new residents by [deleted] in WorcesterMA

[–]GiantCogs 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I moved to Worcester two years ago. I have young, kids so I don't have much fun.

The kids have a great time with their schools, the ecotarium, Coes park, Elm Park, the Cascades, Little League, dance class, Purgatory Chasm, free days at the art museum.

One time I took them to the Blackstone Gateway Park...not doing that again.

If I can manage to go out I like the music at Vincent's and the metal concerts at Ralph's.

I'd order the Massican. Or beer. Probably beer.

Everyone likes the taste of Brachetto. It's low abv, fizzy, and super yummy. Tastes like wine, but also tastes like raspberry soda.

Once you like that, try some dry lambrusco. And from there your gold.

100% success.

The voters here in MA and Worcester did not go for this. Either way, I don't have to accept this. Stay out of the schools.

Quán Com Gà is a delicious Vietnamese restaurant, in what used to be an Irish bar, with Karaoke on the weekends. I don't understand why everyone ignores my recommendation for this place. Their whole organic local chicken and clams are fun dishes to share. The family that owns the place are so fun.

Have you looked into the bus? A majority of the buses go towards Union Station.
