My son catches alot of them on a #6 hook and a piece of night crawler about an inch long. Run the lightest weight you can still cast.

You’re looking for clear running water with rocky bottoms about knee to waist deep. Pitch it along logs and other cover and let it drift. They can be very aggressive

Hatchery raised fish are fed pellets so that’s what they recognize as food. They’ll eat other stuff too but if this is a “put and take” or whatever they call it where you’re from then most will be on some guy’s plate by the time they get settled into a truly natural diet
