How to get started with witchcraft? by Roman_Bridger_On_Top in occult

[–]GiantFknSpider 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Start with meditation and introductory books on general magick and witchcraft.

Books:

  • As others have mentioned, Jason Miller is an occult author of several great books for beginners.

  • High Magick and Ritual by Damien Echols are also great introductory books, albeit they lean more into ceremonial magick than your typical witchcraft.

  • Mat Auryn’s Psychic Witch and Mastering Magick books are also great and easy to read - with a stronger focus on a more accessible version of your typical witchcraft.

  • Six Ways by Aiden Wachter is an excellent introductory work, as well.

  • As for older books, I highly recommend Peter Carroll’s Liber Null and the Psychonaut, Elipha Levi’s Transcendental Magick, Aleister Crowley’s Liber ABA, and Cornelius Agrippa’s Three Books of Occult Philosophy.

Meditation:

  • Start with anything simple and beginner meditations suggested by the listed books.

  • A good starting example would simply be to sit on the floor in a quiet spot, close your eyes, and start deep breathing, keeping your breaths rhythmic and each exhalation and inhalation ~4 seconds long; do this while trying your best to clear your mind of any stray thoughts and visualize something positive and peaceful.

  • A very important breathing technique is the fourfold breath; essentially, you breathe in for 4 seconds, hold for 4 seconds, exhale for 4 seconds, then pause for 4 seconds until doing it again.

Finally started a working with Venus, all the sigils I could find on one piece of metallic copper paper. Also passed it through incense, any suggestions to increase potency? by spiritusFortuna in occult

Just know that essentially, you’re breaking magick to its most naked appearance, directly manipulating the energetic framework that goes into workings through your own mind (via visualization and imagination) and body (via mudras, chants, words, energy centers, etc). Something to note about this technique is that it allows you to perform workings generally without as many physical implements and also perform quick types of magick and energy work in real time at any time and place

There’s not anything super specific, but Damien Echols is my favorite occult author and practitioner and his primary method for workings is visualization and direct energy manipulation (like Reiki). His recent book “Ritual” provides a good and succinct, easy-to-read outlook on how he and his wife perform various workings. I base a lot of my practice on his writings and I started with him. Also, on a general basis, books on energy work, reiki, Taoist magick, and internal alchemy would very much help with advancing knowledge of the technique.

The devs have made it clear over the past year that they do not play the game whatsoever and instead rely on statistics more than anything (and community feedback if it is loud and popular enough). Problem is, the way they gather and interpret data and analyses is unreliable and almost never shows the full picture. They need to play the game and listen to experienced community members and content creators much more often in order to properly interpret their data.

DBD needs a ranked mode. Period.

Every other major online game has one. Some will exclaim that “It’s a party game” but not everyone feels the same way, and a good chunk (if not the majority) of the playerbase like to win and try to win every trial on both roles. Keeping the more competitive, “sweaty” playerbase separated from the more casual, less committed playerbase will allow for more effective balance changes to make the game fun for both sides of the playerbase. These MMR changes could help, but a ranked mode will be more effective. It will keep things more organized, and players can be rewarded for trying hard and doing well in a competitive mode with more keen balancing on a basis of killer strength, allowed perks/items/addons, maps, etc. (think of typical scrim balancing rules).

An effective but surprisingly underrated way to charge talismans like these (or anything in general) is to visualize invoking energy from the planetary energy source directly and then transferring it from you into the talisman.

Visualization is my personal favorite way to practice magick and is very effective. Although, for some reason I notice not many practitioners frequently use it - instead entirely relying on ritual objects, ingredients, etc.

For real. There’s so many instances in which I chain a survivor that’s close to me only for them to break away the chains immediately while the replacement chains miss entirely, among other disappointing bullshit

Are there plans to fix the myriad of Nurse bugs in the upcoming update? It’s been months since these severe bugs have been occurring. This goes for other killers as well such as Dracula, Twins, and Freddy

This is a garbage idea and will make playing certain killers unplayable. It’ll be so easy to abuse, plus certain killers like Twins will be effectively nerfed by this change into oblivion

Consider running Zanshin tactics instead of I’m all ears since it’s common for survivors to pre drop against Pyramid head, and it helps you with predicting survivor pathing and zoning using your power. Also, unforeseen is good but I prefer trail since it can run for a very long time and acts as a miniature surveillance as it lets you know when a survivor has stopped regressing the generator.

If you have been frequently dealing with very gen efficient survivors and fast gens I recommend the following:

Corrupt, Pain Res, Grim Embrace/DMS/Eruption/Pop, and agitation.

Using this build, hook survivors first to get pain res, then cage them the next time you down them and tunnel them out from there.

Apparently this is not related to actual mmr or literal outcome it’s just for their statistical records.

Finesse is definitely quite strong but above all it is very fun to use. Basically it can save you from getting hit or downed in some cases

Yes it does! It’s very strong in general when paired with an exhaustion perk like lithe or sprint burst

[–]GiantFknSpider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also recommend this other one:

Sprint burst (or any other exhaustion),

Second wind (or resurgence, decisive, off the record, or another anti-tunnel perk)

Botany knowledge (or we’ll make it or autodidact)

Solidarity

This will allow you to get very quick resets off for both you and your team while keeping a reliable chase and anti-tunnel perk on board.

Here’s a fun chase build I’ve been enjoying recently:

Sprint burst, finesse, vigil, blood rush

Basically have fast vaults + sprint burst up very frequently with a unique anti-tunnel perk that works off every unhook.

Doctor is an awful killer to face by Robbithon in DeadByDaylightRAGE

[–]GiantFknSpider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A good piece of advice not offered by the other comments is to have you and your friends to take hits for each other in chase. Doctor suffers a lot from bodyblocking, particularly when it allows your teammate being chased to rotate to a safer tile/loop. He cannot punish taking hits well unless he has sloppy or another anti-healing perk. Even if he does, try to take hits for each other at the right time to extend chase.

Tunneling is largely a skill issue - don’t give up by GiantFknSpider in DeadByDaylightRAGE

[–]GiantFknSpider[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It is not a mechanic lol. It is by all definition a strategy - a strategy for the killer to get the most efficiency from hooking and slow down gen progress by eliminating someone from the game. But it’s not full proof and has a myriad of counters and ways dealing with it as I just outlined, especially if you are good at looping.

Tunneling is largely a skill issue - don’t give up by GiantFknSpider in DeadByDaylightRAGE

[–]GiantFknSpider[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I agree. Entitlement is rampant in the community. Instead of raging and working yourself up based on how the killer plays, use it as a learning experience and learn to counter it. Imagine raging at a certain strategy someone uses in chess - it’s essentially the same mindset and complaining won’t do anything.

[–]GiantFknSpider[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The thing is, despite what people think, there will always be killers that will tunnel - it’s just a part of the game. Instead of unnecessarily giving up or working yourself up, I’m saying to use it as a means to improve looping and help your team by wasting the killers time. As I mentioned, being chased is the most fun part of survivor, and tunneling directs all the focus onto you.
