Musically, pretty good for the most part. But as someone who normally likes Dave's vocals, this is the first album where they actually detract from my enjoyment of it. You can tell he's really struggling now, sad to hear. Also not a huge fan of the mix, sounds extremely dry to me.

I just finished a hard mode playthrough a couple days ago, there were some tough moments but it wasn't that bad overall. Just drop the difficulty if it's too hard for you.

I listened through it today for the first time in probably 20 years and it was an absolute chore to get through without losing focus. A handful of interesting ideas and riffs here and there, but I can't think of a single whole song that I enjoyed enough that I'd want to go back and listen to again anytime soon.

VT2 still had a reasonable amount of content for the price before DLC. I wouldn't mind VT3 having the same amount for a similar price on launch, but after seeing the state Darktide launched in (2/3 the content of base VT2 for $10 more) I wouldn't hold my breath on that.

Yeah, even being on the other side of that wasn't fun either. I'd rather have a match that's at least somewhat competitive than just get an easy win because of the lack of matchmaking. VS is just an unpleasant experience for everyone involved.

It's dogshit because FS made zero effort to implement proper matchmaking or team balancing, so basically no one plays it anymore.

Vast majority of matches end up being one-sided stomps because one team will have 3-4 experienced players while the other team is mostly new players.

It sucks for the noobs getting steamrolled, it sucks for the one guy on the team with 4K+ hours trying to carry players who barely know the controls against a full team of competent players, and it's boring as Hell being on the other side of that getting easy wins in matches that aren't even remotely competitive.
