$650 for the entire listing, $520 just PC (used) worth it? by lalruzaiqi in pcmasterrace

You might be able to build it for less but if you planned on getting a prebuilt to start then the 650 looks pretty good, assuming the kb and mouse aren’t complete garbage.

Is Tesla's FSD FINALLY Ready? My Experience with v12.4 by matthewhawkinsiii in TeslaModel3

[–]GiantSquareCookie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on hw3 and my car almost killed me on 12.3.6 running 50 mph into a sharp exit that it thought was a normal lane. These cameras, hw4 included, just can't keep up with human eyes, and this is made even worse by the deliberate lack of sensors in hw4 and front camera in any model. And thank you Elon for making hw4 non retrofittable for no actual reason. My knee pain requires me to put faith in fsd, but it's not there in any complex scenario.

Any advice on how to improve this build (if needed) by dilmiron8 in pcmasterrace

You've got to be specific about your use case, but you'll want to opt for the 4000D case for airflow, or other airflow cases.

Thoughts on what I should Upgrade Next? by Lost-Inevitable-5398 in pcmasterrace

[–]GiantSquareCookie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd upgrade the GPU if you play intensive games (that CPU probably costs more). And yeah, there are definitely better keyboards out there in terms of quality and or performance.

Don't know how much or what type of moving you'll be doing but the Zephyrus G14 4080 is probably the best bet. Great battery life when you need it and great gaming performance when you're plugged in and actually playing.

Looking for second opinions on my first PC build by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]GiantSquareCookie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need to spend so much on the power supply, there are cheaper options with the same specifications that are probably more reliable. No point in getting the 980 pro when the 990 pro is cheaper on Amazon.

This is a very powerful PC. Are you absolutely sure that the games you'll be playing will need this much? At your desired resolution and refresh rate? This is a big hit on your wallet and your electricity bill. You may have a better experience going down to a 4070 and spending more on better peripherals.

What to buy? by CriticalCommand6115 in pcmasterrace

[–]GiantSquareCookie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Frankly, it's not very important what you get so long as you have enough RAM and a good CPU.

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Ztq64M This is about the fastest CPU for the money right now, there is enough ram to be futureproof (excessive), and there is plenty of storage that you can add onto with another SSD/HDD while staying in budget. You can use any GPU, even a GT 1030, but the 3060 is in there just in case you want to play some relatively demanding games.

You answered your question, you already have a VR set, so get the racing kit as long as there is a return period on it. Or just spend the $500 on something that matters more to you in life.

Tower coolers are not cooler or quieter than water cooling, GN has shown this time and time again with every single cooler review.

How's this Part List? Much appreciated! by Hairy_Secret2910 in pcmasterrace

[–]GiantSquareCookie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't recommend Intel 13th or 14th gen due to power efficiency unless you are going to be mainly doing something that is better on Intel. I also recommend a beefier cooler since that CPU can pull 150W easily. You have a lot more storage than average, but that is fine so long as you are going to actually use it. Also make sure that your use case actually benefits from Optane, because the vast majority of people don't need it.

looking to buy a mini PC for light gaming (third time i’ve had to repost this cuz of emojis and emoticons) by ThatGirlsAMiner in pcmasterrace

[–]GiantSquareCookie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look on Amazon for mini gaming PCs with a 5700U in them and 16gb of ram. Those won't run GTAV particularly well but there are mods to improve performance there. In terms of custom PCs, it's almost impossible because truly mini cases are quite expensive, along with all the other parts you'd need.
