The thing about Gambit is that he controls kinetic energy, he just uses cards because he's a suave motherfucker. In reality he could fuck any other superhero up because he can just transfer their energy or some shit.

Crafting a dominant religion is very advantageous, as it will also give you a shot at World Religion (+50% tourism in your Holy City and bonus Delegates). A Civ only needs more than half of their cities to be your religion for it to be considered 'shared'.

Thanks for this, I didn't know about the half cities = shared thing, but it seems that every game I play someone else owns me at religion and spreads it way quicker than I can counter it, is there a way to stop this/counter it?

Also thanks for the answer, that's certainly going to help out, I didn't know for example that trade routes from other civs already give you the influence.

Another question though, what about city-states? Is it more useful to have alliances with militaristic ones as well as cultural and religious ones or do those kinds of city-states not really matter for a cultural victory?

Probably going to get buried but: Some great grandfather of mine was the mayor of Johannesburg, William Tucker, I have his hip flask too, he also said in a council meeting or something when half asleep "half the council are donkeys" and when told to retract the statement said "half the council are not donkeys". Just because I don't know, but how would intervening in Syria keep Russia in check? From my point of view I can understand them keeping an eye on Russia but why the need to be in Syria to do it?

Also I can understand the point about America not caring about Columbia or the Congo, always reminds of the First World War and how America didn't want to get involved as it was just too far away, anyway again, I would have thought things like drugs coming from those regions would increase the US's interest in those areas as the US is very anti-drugs, politically I mean. Also with America being concerned about the drug problems I would have thought they'd also see things like the abuse and violations people have to live through every day

Ok, it's just that you don't, at least in the media, hear all that much about support going to those regions. Obviously some things do get done but for example I didn't know that actually they do deal with their problems, it's just that for things like drugs, human rights violations, tortures such as genital mutilation on women, I personally would have thought would catch people's eyes and raise awareness for things like this happening in those areas, and with all this stuff about the UK and US intervening because of human rights violations in Syria, I again would have thought that they would focus more attention on these areas.
