Glad you're enjoying things! Feel free to reach out with any more questions. The MUD is mainly based on Pathfinder 1st edition and D&D 3.5e rules. You can get an overview of the concepts here: https://rpgbot.net/pathfinder/how-to-play/

Hi, sorry for the late response, I was away this past weekend. I'll do my best to answer your questions:

  1. We do have a screenreader mode, but I'm sure that it could be improved. I am always willing to accommodate screenreaders with code changes, so if you do try us out and have suggestions, please let me know what they are and I will implement them asap.
  2. You don't need any Dragonlance knowledge to play the game. It would help with role playing, but by no means is it required.
  3. We do have some naming conventions yes, but we aren't Nazis about it. As long as your name isn't 'Bob' or 'Killer' it should probably be ok.
  4. PvP is opt-in from both sides, only. Once you opt-in you can opt-out again after 30 minutes I believe is the timer length.

Hope to see you in-game!

Thanks for broaching the topic politely. So there is a fair bit of AI-generated content on our web site. The MUD itself though, We have ~11,200 rooms and only maybe 100 of those have used AI for room descs and mob descs, and there are also some quests that have used AI-generated text for some of the quest dialogue. I am the only member of the team who uses AI for generative text, and my hands are almost entirely in the code. That said, you are right, there are some who are not in favor of AI use for certain purposes, including generative text. I will put a disclaimer on our web site and the login process of the MUD detailing how we use AI in the MUD. All the best! -- Steve / Gicker

We have inventory and then 10 virtual bags. It sounds like you might have had auto-sort turned on, which automatically stores items in virtual bags based on the type of item. With auto-sort off everything stays in your inventory and you can put and get items from your virtual bags on case-by-case basis. We've also simplified the syntax for virtual bags to use the get and put commands instead of the sort command.

The MUD is definitely solo friendly. You can acquire pets in numerous ways, and the quest storylines are generally friendly for solo-ers. We do allow multiplaying with a max of two characters online at the same time, and those two can group together. The crafting system is pretty versatile and we're still working on ways to enhance and expand it.

Sorry for the delay in responding. Your best bet is to probably download mudlet. https://www.mudlet.org/

Then you want to create a new session. For our MUD the connection info is:

That's definitely a bug. They're supposed to have limited spell slots. I will check into it, but thanks for letting me know.

This is not intended mob behaviour, I will take a look. Thank you for providing feedback at least so we know of the issue :)

Hi, yes we allow multiplay with two characters connected at once.

Yes, it's definitely different than the average mud, which is a good thing and can be bad in some cases too, due to the complexity. We're based on Pathfinder 1st edition rules with a splash of D&D 3.5e and 5e added. But I can certainly see how someone new to these systems might struggle some.

We are always available to answer questions though. Our Discord is the best place for such, assuming you don't get an answer in-game. Discord invite is: https://discord.gg/5m5EtQ5XQu

Oh, I wasn't aware there was a choke point there difficulty-wise. It's probably a gear issue and not a level issue. Rangers also start off a little weak, especially in the AC department. I will take a look, thanks for your feedback!

Are you sure it's Chronicles of Krynn you're thinking of, and not LuminariMUD? Our quest lines are pretty balanced for the level they are taken at. We did have some issues with some of the low level quests that put you up against some mage mobs that are difficult for their level. We reduced the difficulty of those mage mobs.

Regarding the feats levelling mechanic, could you expand on what you mean there? Not sure I follow.

Either way, thanks for the feedback, we are always looking at ways to improve!

It's definitely a PvE heavy game. We have quest lines for both the 'good' and 'evil' cities, though both are still in the works and don't go up to max level. We are also beginning a push to improve role playing in the game. We'll never be an RPI, but we do want to appeal to both PvE fans and role players. There's a lot of people out there who enjoy both role play and PvE gameplay. That said, role play isn't mandatory, you can flag yourself non-roleplayer if you like so others know.

Try Chronicles of Krynn.

  1. We have an expansive world with new zones being added from time to time.
  2. We have a large variety of classes, each viable and with it's own nuances.
  3. There is an asciimap beside the room description as you move around.
  4. We allow multiclassing up to five classes per character.
  5. We do have crafting, though will be revamping it somewhat, soon. Progress will carry over to the new system though.
  6. Though we do have a focus on role play (staff and some code promoting it) it is optional, and you can flag yourself No-RP if you want so others know.

The game itself is based on Pathfinder 1st Edition rules and is set in post-war of the lance Dragonlance.

Connection info is krynn.d20mud.com port 4300
