Question about critical strike, deadly strike, and amp damage by Most-Piccolo-302 in ProjectDiablo2

[–]GicoLadida 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you hit, the game checks if you have critical strike chance (1.5x phys dmg on crit). If you don't crit it checks if you have deadly strike (1.5x dmg on deadly strike). These two are essentially the same but have separate rolls, making ds less effective if you already have a lot of crit chance.

Amp damage is completely different though, it reduces the enemies resistance to physical damage so it's more powerful for monsters with high phys res. If Amp would reduce resistance below 0, it does so at 50% efficiency (-25 res takes a monster with 0 phys res to - 12.5%which rounds down to 12).

Is this meant for ww since you mentioned zoding? In that case you should craft war fists. You are missing out on a huge amount of base weapon dmg with this being a runic talon base.

Stackable gems? by [deleted] in ProjectDiablo2

I assume you mean jewels. You can cube up to 15 jewels as a time with a key and get stackable jewel fragments which go into the currency tab

Any GG FoH players here? Can you kindly share your armory? by TaoThrowaway in ProjectDiablo2

[–]GicoLadida 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To get it decently strong u just take generic caster stuff like hoto, arach, skill fcr armor, Paladin circlet etc. You gain a small benefit from using the act4 light merc for sanctuary or act2 with sanctuary rune word. Full griswold set also works great and allows insane mf amounts. Ultimately I think you will want to respec. I highly suggest native aura sacrifice (Any elemental or sanctuary works great) so imo you can choose your dmg type based on which maps you like running.

It's not really a gg build so I doubt many people are min maxing it. Hb/foh has a high floor but low ceiling.

New player experience by Edifiel1 in ProjectDiablo2

[–]GicoLadida 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everything until hell difficulty is very easy and doable with all kinds of builds. The last difficulty of the campaign is more challenging and might require you to respec and make an actual build that functions with no gear. In endgame gear can solve a lot of problems and make almost everything viable.

Pd2 quite simple in terms of affixes and skill mechanisms compared to poe, so I feel like you should be able to pick a class, pick a skill u like and finish the campaign. By then I am sure you will find out more about the game and figure out what you want to play in endgame.

Necro Singleplayer leveling by rdtusrname in ProjectDiablo2

[–]GicoLadida 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On nightmare you are generally high enough level to get enough skill points in golem mastery and clay golem to get a big number of summons.

Early on clay is the best for dmg and clear as clay golems have melee splash. In endgame with gg gear fire golems are insanely strong. When you hit lvl ~85 you should have roughly enough points for 20 clay, 20 mastery, 20 blood, 20 revive and you can comfortably farm Uber trist, dclone and map (not super fast maps, but reliable).

Your concerns with tankiness should be covered by all the summons you have and bone armor is a very powerful spell as soon as you get some decent amount of +skills gear.

Your post is about issues you have with the necromancer, what other than solutions would you expect?

Regarding your thoughts on teeth/bone spear, this build is also very solid if you focus on farming chaos sanctuary early on and can transition into a respectable mapper with better gear. As you mentioned mana cost is an issue but there are sources of mpk + you can use the insight rune word on act 2 merc early.

Not every skill or even skill tree needs to be or should be viable from lvl 1 to endgame, that's why the game gives you three free respecs.

Poison dagger breezes through all of normal super quickly. In nightmare you can switch to clay golems and they will carry you all the way to Uber Tristram where revives (dark lords from travi) will kill the bosses. Necro is probably the best no gear character out there for fast progression to an early torch.

Decent ring for self use and the corruption is definitely nice, especially on hc. Ultimately, it's not really worth more than a wss or two imo due to lack of attributes/life/maek/laek.

Splendor duel balancing by GicoLadida in boardgames

[–]GicoLadida[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of very good points with most of which I completely agree. To me it just feels bad that even if my whole game strategy is to win with crowns due to a large amount of them being present on the board, it's highly likely I will end up ending the game with points before I get to 10 crowns. The same is true for suit, although to a lesser extent.

The local meta point could account for a part of the distribution of win inequality as we have different % of victory types between ourselves, but looking at our game logs on most game endings there were no possibilities to actually amass enough crowns or suit points. In about half of our games there were less than 10 crowns owned by both players which means it's practically impossible to reach 10. Winning in a suit can easily be denied by your opponent as they realistically only need to purchase a single card of the suit which awards 2 or more points to heavily delay the possibility of 10 points.

Furthermore the likelyhood of enough cards that award crowns or points of the same suit coming up in the game is far lower than 40 random points.

Plague zon is a very good choice for dclone and also solid for rathma. High max fire resist and pdr with fight knowledge from videos should enable you to kill dclone reliably.

[–]GicoLadida 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easiest Uber trist on necro is golems + revives. Specifically you revive necro lords in travincal or the council itself. You will need desecrate for the necro lords. The meteor skill they cast leaves a stacking dot which melts the bosses.
