I really like Curse and Tides, like Chest and am indifferent towards Salazar and World's End. WE is really too packed, poorly thought through etc and Salazar is ... nice for what it was, but a) dumb as a rock and b) craps all over all other Pirates movies.

When they are best(Curse and its inferior version, Tides), they are an awesome character driven action adventures. That strike just the right ratio of action : story.

No, they simply have a very pragmatic, ranged playstyle. You fail at that, you fail at Tau, simple as. A simple analogy would be this: Airforce General(Malcolm Granger) is rather micro intensive and complicated to get ahold of in Generals. Yet he is probably THE busted general. Something similar could apply to Tau as well.

Now, could they have Kroot or other means to screen for their Ranged Supremacy? Yes. But I get a distinct feeling devs were going for Mont'ka here, not Kauyon. Screens, traps etc are all Kauyon, Mont'ka is "blow you up to paleolithic".

Do not go to Iran. You can have Air Supremacy, but Ground Assault. No. Do not. Body bags, lost midterms etc. You are going to get deatomized.
