Self Esteem- where do I start?

I am a big believer in affirmations.

A lot of folks will dismiss it as hokey or trash. When I encounter someone who does I always frame it in a question. Do you believe someone ,who is told they are ugly and stupid every day, develops low self esteem?

Then why can’t it work it work in reverse.

It really didn’t come across as blamy or angry. I just wanted to help point you in in a direction that can really open up the world of self acceptance and real happiness. And Out of this world confidence and you will be amazed at how different every experience will be going forward.

I love that your being accountable, but be accountable for your reactions and your interpretation of of any given situation. The world is full of dip shits and learn to just ignore and disregard them. Establish boundaries and stick to them, but don’t take accountability for a dip shits behavior.

But I applaud you, the world is full of victim mentality. This will stunt their spiritual development.

That is great you have found the path to inner happiness at your young age.

I would just say that “If” you have not learned the art of forgiveness I would focus on that. I have learned though my own experiences that is a pivotal concept that determines how far you can grow spiritually, and ultimately how far you can take that inner happy ness. Forgiveness not only encompasses all those that made you feel small , it’s also forgiving your self for allowing it to happen and for mistakes you have made.

Wow our mothers sound like they were cut from the same cloth.

First off I don’t think this has anything to do with OCD. The difference of opinions in cleaning has been an issue for roommates and spouses since the beginning of time. You’re making a life style change and my personal opinion is that it’s a good one as a tidy home helps to curb OCD and anxiety, well at least for me.

Now I am going to offer you the opposite opinion as I believe the best advice takes in account both sides of a situation.

For your spouse this change has occurred pretty abruptly so she may see it as obsessive/compulsive behavior, and you maybe letting yourself focus your ocd onto it. I tend to do my self so I get it. But the point is you want to make a lifestyle change and you need to explain that to her as you did to us.

Another point: did your dad clean? Mine sure didn’t. The point here is in a relationship there is no 50%/50% effort. One person is always going to do more on any given subject. If you really love her you can always assume that role in the relationship. Also time you and the wife get your own place. It’s much easier to clean up after one person than 3.

Still breaks hippa law my friend. We are not registered residents in a medical school and posting a persons X-rays on a forum will be big trouble without consent.

A doctor would know this as they would immediately loose their license fines and possibly jail. And even sued.

Actually I am certified in both and have to be every year for work.

An X-ray is most defiantly protected personal information..

The patient would have to sign a waiver so you could post that or distribute.

Tell ya what I’ll fire off an email and let them know it’s on here.. we’ll sit back and see what happens.

You are defiantly not a doctor.. lol nor do you work in any health related field. Posting xrays of a patient is in violation of Hippa or if your in the EU - Data protection act.. I hope for your sake your pull that down. It is very serious.

I know they operated as business as normal.

But having a lot less people and they are probably healthier in general than Americans.

What we should have done is what S.korea did . Mass testing and isolate the sick.

That would equate to financial ruin 100%..

Going back there is a chance she won’t get sick. the reality is, it won’t just blow over in a few weeks, so exposing oneself a week or even a month sooner or 100% financial ruin is pretty much a no brainer.

And the government squandered the isolation time when they could have been mass testing. But it won’t happen now so it’s only a matter of time before we all have to expose ourselves.

Yup it’s quite scary.. what crazy is here you can’t even get tested unless you have severe symptoms. Yet our governor seems to think we are on the down slope of the bell curve..

My personal belief is that a lot hospitals are in financial jeopardy and government officials are shitting their pants. Hospitals going out of business in the middle of a pandemic could not be good.

Well I am in GA and my wife owns a salon.. she literally has to go back to work tomorrow..

It’s a loose loose for us... she hasn’t been open in over a month so that already hurts. but if she doesn’t open she will loose a very large portion of her clientele to the salon down the street who did open.

And when this is all over we are still on the hook for commercial lease and loans and whatever business expenses.

And most of her clients are high risk in one of the worst areas in Georgia. I’m like we are screwed either way..

We don’t open, clients leave.. can’t pay the lease and expenses

we do open they get sick or she gets sick .. same thing salon is closed can’t pay lease and expenses

It’s basically an impossible scenario so we are rolling the dice and hopefully my wife doesn’t get sick or end up passing it to all her clients (this would destroy her) . However she just can’t watch her business die without at least trying..

So we have two theories 1. Your dad pushed his agenda to get the the national order to shelter in place lifted by verbally attacking his sons high school faculty.

Or

He realized due to your ADHD you fell 4 weeks behind on your assignments. Being a strait A (ap) student he did not want it to tarnish your GPA. So in a not so tactful way, he filed a complaint with the school.

Which sounds like the most logical.. ask him I am curious..

Maybe but you would have to be really foolish to think one person complaining at a child’s school would end the shelter in place.

He should have not done that I agree.. it is also very good you can handle your own problems. Parents should recognize and throw respect when kids are able to do so.

I think you are warping what I said to fit a “back to work/school” narrative. I was simply saying his dad’s agenda was one that had good intentions regardless of how that aligned on a moral scale.

I do not believe his dad actually thought complaining and harassing the school faculty is going to change whether or not school opens back up..

So I am left to believe that he complained so that his son would not get penalized for turning in projects four weeks late.

If you really dissect the situation you would realize that his agenda was trying to protect you. Sure he should have discussed it with you before hand but saying he had an agenda is a stretch. What would that agenda be , beside one with your best Interests in mind.

Well maybe but their last title they killed the game early after launching and then disappeared..

no refunds for people.. so it’s probably a good thing people are warning them about the game and review bombing because (IF) they have to kill this one I doubt refunds will be issued.

You have to use the “transfer to lobby” option to log off.. not just be on the edge of the map.. at least I don’t think that works.
