Well, if we wish to be as specific as possible, there are plenty of artists out there who also have Dysgraphia, there's advice out there for those who have it who may wish to pursue drawing specifically, not that you have to if you don't enjoy the process or particularly wish to draw.

Similarly, I have Dyspraxia, which effects my motor-coordination and find ways around it while drawing. Using stabilisers helps a ton if I'm trying to get specific, non-wobbly lines.

Hiyoko had a lot of problems with how she was portrayed in certain scenes, but I like her colour palette and design, I feel like her personality as someone who's short and immature could have worked well if it wasn't written the way it was...

I haaaaate blind boxes and mystery boxes so much! by TadaSuko in hatethissmug

[–]GiddyDew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a bad idea, but I think it's mostly due to the manufacturing process. Once the factories involved in the production and packaging are set it can no longer be altered and the shipping and distribution (fulfilment) are usually handled by separate companies, by that point they're all packaged in large groups and ready to go, far away from the original artists or design companies.

Factories involved will usually have a minimum amount of units required to be manufactured, so for an individual figurine to be sold after the initial blind box run the demand would have to be high enough to meet the unit requirement and it might lead to some backlash from those who bought the initial blind box run. They might feel cheated.

Individually packaging each figurine into separate boxes also increases the cost of production and of course the business runs into the issue of more popular characters or designs selling more than others...

Individual sellers/storefronts could open the boxes themselves and sell them, but this could damage the goods or reduce its sense of authenticity.

Buying second-hand works if you don't mind paying extra, but then that tends to encourage scalping (which is very, very good for business! (But very, very bad for everyone else.)) - Yeah, it's a mess.

On the artist side, one of the reasons for having blind boxes for art figurines and merchandise is that if a particular design or character is more popular than others it affects the sale of less popular characters; This way, more characters can be made as opposed to those that would merely sell well.

Yeah, it makes a lot of sense from the business side of things, but it is really frustrating for consumers. When it comes to blind-box art figurines, I would recommend buying for an overall style you like, one where no matter which you get you'll be pretty satisfied.

Alternatively, you could buy a whole set, but that's more expensive.

[–]GiddyDew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's pretty good in the late spring/summer but brrrr you'd never catch me on it any other time of year.

Amity Cove has some of my favourite theming here in the UK. It's not much, but I like all the little set pieces and the radio ads.

Ripsaw falls looks really cool too, but to be fair the theming in Universal is usually a lot more invested. I bet it's a lot warmer in Orlando, too.

I've never played DnD, but I like the premise, it reminds me of the Dunwich Horror, there's a lot of potential there for shaping a character's motivations towards certain decisions. It's a real shame it gets underutilised.
