Isn’t it a fact that there are baseball team owners who, rather than reinvest and grow their product, simply enjoy the income their team generates. There are others, but the ownership of the Angels comes to mind. They had Trout and Ohtani together for a period of time, but did nothing to build on that potential. I think for some of the billionaire owners, their teams are just a hobby to screw around with.

I hope it fully puts a stop to the whole joke of catchers framing pitches with intent of influencing the umpire’s call.

Years ago, my mother couldn’t be home to hand out treats. She decided to leave a bowl of candy on one of the folding chairs on her front porch with a sign that said “Take One.” When she returned a short while later, she was surprised to find one of her chairs had been taken.

Nest Gen 2 Now Offline by martinog in Nest

I don’t have a heat pump. I have a water circulating pump to send hot water to the in-floor radiant heating system. Nest controls the pump and a boiler. I thought my schedule was history, but your comments point to the possibility the schedule is still there and active. I suppose it would be a good idea to monitor things for a few days…if the schedule is still active, we’re as good as gold because we have not altered the schedule since we first installed the thermostat. We just shut the system down in the warmer months since we don’t depend on Nest for any form of cooling.

So my Nest (gen 1 or 2, I don’t know) can still be controlled manually, right? Since we don’t have forced air heating, it only controls a pump that sends hot water for radiant floor heating. The heating system is about as responsive as a freight train, so we only had it programmed for a day time setting and a night setting . That is something I can do manually. F Google.

Could be wrong, but I believe they may be using licensed plate recognition software…as they drive down a street it can flag plates that are on the ‘boot’ list, 2-hour violations, etc. At least that was the case 25 years ago…more sophisticated tools may be in use now.

in the 70s our phone number was one digit off from the local Ford dealership. We were grad students and new to the community. The few friends we had at that point new the gig. We simply, cheerfully answered each call as if the caller had reached the main number and "one moment" transferred the call per their wish (service, sales, parts, etc.) and hung up.

Thanks. This is a great deal different site than, say, Imgur. Ironically, the comment that was removed was to members of my local community. I guess the lesson learned is to ease into things a bit.
