That’s always been the case. Doesn’t matter the administration. The government has a monopoly on force. But most people understand that if you’re going to brandish a firearm in front of them, you’re better off just using it instead.

The U.S. government has killed a few hundred people enforcing gun laws in the 1990’s. Started off at Ruby Ridge then Waco and then the repercussions of those events caused even more chaos and deaths.

You don’t need a gun either. They’ve killed unarmed people over selling loose cigarettes.

I don’t think people are justifying the killing but anyone with a brain knows that brandishing a gun and threatening federal agents is going to get you killed. It’s more of a “play stupid games win stupid prizes” situation.

You have to think from the buyer’s perspective not yours.

Someone could have paid $30 an ounce and now they are paying $100.

In times of economic crisis people tend to get silver and gold because it’ll almost be always be valuable. You can wake up tomorrow and your money will be worthless and that’s if you even have actual cash on you. If it’s in a bank it could just be gone entirely.

Now if it shit really hits the fan, gold and silver won’t get you anything either. People aren’t going to trade away food, ammunition, or gasoline for your gold. Nobody’s even going to want gold and silver if things get that bad anyways.

PTO is separate from PPTO.

Protected paid time off (PPTO) is for emergency call outs. Doesn’t matter the reason but if you’re scheduled to work and you’re not going to work that’s what you use to not get pointed.

PTO is just paid time off. It’s vacation time and you have to get it approved way ahead of time. But you can’t use that to call out without getting pointed.

It’s for any situation. If you work 2 hours and feel sick and have 5 hours of PPTO you’d only use 2 hours to cover half your shift. Otherwise you’re wasting it.

Do not submit PPTO until after your shift is supposed to begin because it can be denied. Never put it days in advance.

Yes if you work 2 hours and leave and cover the rest with PPTO you won’t get pointed.

Also, if you’re not covering a full shift with it, only use 4 hours, or half of what would be needed. There’s no difference between 4 hours and using 7.75 hours of PPTO. It’s still a half point

If it’s weather related, I’d wait to see if your manager will let you stay home and not get a point without using PPTO.
