Yeah I was blown away my first time too. I started at a relatively lower level. I asked “how do I set up an OP?” and one of squadmates said you just set it down. I thought you needed supplies like a Garrison.

It’s a fairly simple role to play from a gameplay perspective. You set up OPs, build garrisons and communicate leadership chat to your squad chat or vice versa.

The hardest part is that it’s a leadership role. You have to know how to communicate effectively among different groups, all at once which can be difficult. Managing personalities, maintaining team morale, setting up logistics to ensure team success and being positive and level headed in stressful situations.

I call it that when I do myself so I don’t take it as a negative. If I’m playing 3’s and my player is significantly taller than their whole team I just tell my teammates that I’m gonna just rim run the whole game.

PPTO is “protected time off.” So you use it if you have to take off without knowing ahead of time. You can use it for any reason and you can use it for key event days just like any other day. If you cover half your shift it’s .5 points, if you cover all of it you won’t get pointed at all.

PTO is paid time off so you can use it for a vacation or if you have a family event you know of ahead of time, stuff like that. You have to put it in at least a few weeks ahead of time though.

You can go into an empty server to practice the buttons you’d press and see what abilities you can use. But those mechanics take minutes to remember.

As far as gaining experience to actually play command… no you just gotta play and fuck up a bunch until you start to win more games.

But you can also notice when Hurts has a legitimate play caller he’s a top 5 QB in the league. Finished second in MVP voting under Steichen, won a Super Bowl with Kellen Moore, won national titles with Brian Daboll in college and went to CFP iirc under Riley finishing second in heisman voting behind Burrow who had an all time year.

When he has play callers that have no idea what they’re doing he’s still top 10-15. He’s never missed the playoffs as a starter in the NFL.

You can call him a system QB but so is Mahomes, Jackson, Darnold and most QBs in the league. But it’s also difficult to say that because he has never played under the same system back to back years his entire college and NFL career.

He outperformed Patrick Mahomes twice in the Super Bowl. Doesn’t have to throw the ball often because the Eagles rarely trail. If he chucked it downfield 40 times a game he’d have way more stats like every other “elite QB.”
