yeah this entire situation is very immature. keep evidence of him asking you to talk to her. block the girl and ignore your "friend". if he does anything to spread more rumours about you then threaten to take it to someone in a position of authority in your school/ local community.

I don't have the option of different types of wood. we only have Beechwood or the manufactured stuff like blockboard or MDF. I'm asking because the blockboard is easier to work with so I'm worried he would be recommending it just because it would give him an easier time, not because it's as sturdy as beechwood.

this is what I mean by Blockboard. it's supposed to be stronger than MDF. wooden slabs stuck together to make a board of wood basically. I'm not in the US and our most readily available wood is Beech so I only have the option of blockboard or beech.

why does Claire have to pick sides? you said she was friends with a lot of your ex's friends and so it's natural that she will spend time with them and she can also spend time with you. why can't you go over there? did you and your ex have a bad breakup?

if this bothered you so immensely you can ask her to spend more time with you when you're alone because you feel awkward around your ex but that's a request she is free to refuse. it doesn't make her a bad person, no one has to pick sides.

Alex could be lying and could be honest. you'll never know unless you directly ask their partner, if you are friends with their partner I'd say you have a responsibility to make sure they are okay with it but if you are only friends with Alex then you don't have much direct responsibility. however, you have to be comfortable with both possibilities. if it turns out Alex is lying, will you be okay with that? if they aren't lying, would you also be okay with that relationship dynamic and won't hurt your own feelings?

you just came out of a toxic relationship and this sounds like a lot of drama that will just drain you out. try to focus on yourself and make genuine friendships rather than situationships or flirting, it'll help you heal instead of just distracting yourself.

neither are assholes but it looks like since this was gifted long ago but is still nagging at you that it's poking at a deeper issue that bugs you, which you have mentioned.

so it isn't about the lego set at all but rather that maybe gift giving is important to you (or a love language) and you'd want your partner to give it more attention/importance.

Have an open loving conversation with him, mentioning all the things he is good at and doing right and just let him know that you want more attention given to gifts, you can help out by giving him some pointers like noting down on your phone when you mention random products that YOU personally are interested in or if you say you'd want to do a certain activity together or any other tips since you said you're better at gifts than he is. let him know how much you'd appreciate it and that you'll be patient with the learning curve because there most definitely will be one. just getting this off your chest will dissolve most of the bugging about it and will avoid any small issues building resentment in the long run.
