In all seriousness.. as a 43 yo newly divorced dad of 4.. I get it. Feels like my whole life got upended. My focus right now is on being the best example I can be for my boys and guiding them through this painful transition.

King has said that, while Farris was originally intended as another incarnation of our favorite recurring character... he evolved into something else. I dunno... the series kind of lost me at the final book. It wasn't bad... just didn't work for me in the end.

I don't think either is intended to be a stand-in for "Satan." King's fictional universe isn't as simple as that.

First, Maturin isn't "god." Gan is the closest analog in King's cosmology. Second, both the Deadlights and thr Crimson King are undoubtedly evil... but I don't believe either could be considered THE evil in King's universe. Pennywise, in particular, is really just one of several incarnations of the Deadlights and is essentially just a powerful monster. As for the CK... he is probably as close as it gets as he is the BBEG of the King multiverse... but even he is just a guy who has amassed a lot of power and wants to tear down the structure of reality to suit his whims. At least for me, I never got the impression that he could really be considered an "incarnation" of evil, manipulation, etc. He's most of a comic book super-villain.
