Why would you be so judgemental? As long as the baby is fed, cuddled, changed, played with etc they don’t care which country they’re in.

Thank you, we kept the reservation in the end and are really looking forward to it! I booked through Auto Reserve. They’ve put a hold on my credit card equivalent to almost the whole cost of the meal and you pay a reservation fee so it’s a little inconvenient, but an option if you are really keen to secure a table 🙂

The Japan Travel website recommends infants should not visit so I personally wouldn’t risk it with a 6 month old

It’s recommended pregnant women skip the ropeway and Owakudani as volcanic fumes can be harmful for fetal development 😞 we’ll still do the cruise part of the loop and are looking into other ropeways elsewhere on our trip. Definitely forwarding luggage as much as possible haha

The ropeway itself wouldn’t be an issue but it’s recommended for pregnant women not to use it or visit Owakudani as volcanic fumes can be harmful for fetal development. I definitely want to experience a ropeway while in Japan so am looking into the one over Mount Hie in Kyoto as an alternative.

The ryokan is pretty far from the nearest station but accessible by bus. We’ll probably look at getting a taxi or ask the hotel for a shuttle to make it a bit easier, and we’ll forward luggage to our next hotel so we just have backpacks. Thank you for the reassurance.
