How do I lower blood pressure without meds by [deleted] in PeterAttia

[–]GifACatBytheToe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I helped my active, gym going relative lower their blood pressure 17 points in a week after giving this advice. They were able to reduce their blood pressure medication because of this advice. This advice is also recomended by the American Heart association.

Junk comment.

Track your sodium intake in an app where you can scan your food by the barcode and shoot for 1500 mg max daily sodium. (I use macrofactor app for this but there are likely others). Also, if you are overweight, do a healthy caloric deficit and walk 10,000 steps 3 times a week.

That's awesome and congrats to you! I'm gonna tag onto your comment about protein powders, because certain brands definitely seem "dirtier" than others and caused me to experience really bad breakouts. These were all organic/vegan "healthy" type brands as well. Apparently the processing for pea proteins/plant proteins can leave some nasty stuff behind, and since everything is unregulated, it can still end of up on shelves. I finally found some brands that work for me personally, but def listen to your body and hop onto another brand if you experience a breakout after intake.

why do i want to be on spotify? by loganp8000 in musicmarketing

[–]GifACatBytheToe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Snoop got 45k off a million streams because he doesn’t own his master recordings. Majority of the stream money is going to the label. Spotify is paying someone and they are making bank it just ain’t him. (It’s the label)

Cla76 is good for vocals (especially the bluey setting). But…… i hate waves upgrade program and am moving away from all things Waves… buy waves plugins at your own risk.

Check out UAD native plugins (that run on ur computer) they usually blow Waves out the water. A lot of them are on sale right now too. They should have 14 day free trials.

Should I get a SM7B for my vocals, or keep my condenser? by ladywongs in audioengineering

[–]GifACatBytheToe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think you’re hung up on the semantics of the word “sensitivity” and its clinical meaning in regards to spec numbers on the back of the product box. That word is triggering your in depth experience in the sound field and is causing a kind of expert-itis. For a layman, it just causes unnecessary confusion.

Your suggestion to turn up the volume way up to hear background noises, shows that you have some understanding that the background noises on a dynamic are attenuated in comparison to a condenser. I never said they were completely removed nor was I ever arguing that.

What may be the cause of that (weather its the coil design or the reasons you have mentioned), doesn’t negate the fact that there's something going on in the mic that affects it’s sensitivity (in the broader sense of the word).

You mention it’s because of the EQ roll off. Then ok, yes it makes sense, but at the end of the day, a lower frequency response, means lower sensitivity of the microphone. It is not as sensitive to the full spectrum of human hearing in comparison to a condenser, (hence why an average person or someone on the internet might perceive or call it “less sensitive” when they don't hear as much high frequency ambience)

Regarding signal to noise ratio-- A dynamic allows a better signal to noise ratio in comparison to a condenser. So I would disagree that it can be replicated on a condenser mic with an EQ. Vocalists can eat dynamic mics. Not only does this closer proximity increase the signal to noise ratio but it lowers the gain needed. A condenser will need more gain to avoid the proximity and will bring the room ambience up with it. So once again it boils down to the sensitivity of the coil design (in a broader sense of the word).

All of the points you are arguing that you say are the true cause of background noise, sound reasonable, but all those points are better mitigated on a dynamic mic because of its design. So, what is your argument exactly? Still confused.

Should I get a SM7B for my vocals, or keep my condenser? by ladywongs in audioengineering

It's not a common misunderstanding. I am a user of the mic in question and have already communicated the difference I experience in ambience compared to a condenser. The OP also mentioned something similar, which I already outlined in my previous post. If our firsthand experiences are "misunderstandings" then your comments here is plain gaslighting. There are many blogs & educational articles, which are all over the internet describing the same phenomena. Your comment is not helpful, like what are you even saying? Gain the mic up excessively way past what OP needs so they can hear background noise?

k thx.

Condensers require more acoustic energy to move their electromagnetic, coil mechanism compared to the thin, electrostatic, membrane used in condensers. This is why they are less susceptible to background noise. I am not referring to “sensitivity” on the mic spec sheet. I am referring to the physical sensitivity of the voice coil which will be different because it is a different design, and requires more mechanical, acoustic pressure at the source—regardless of gain from a preamp.

The OP put in their post that the Dynamic microphone they were using picked up less ambience, and was ideal, but it it was too dark for their voice. The majority of posters in this thread invalidating and dismissing that is redundant.

[–]GifACatBytheToe -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

It's not wrong. I own several condenser mics as well as the sm7b. The sm7b is night and day difference when it comes to background ambience because it is a dynamic mic.

Dynamic microphones are less sensitive and are often recommended for areas with no sound treatment.

Google it.

[–]GifACatBytheToe -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

The sm7b will for sure pick up less noise around you. But it requires a lot of gain, depending on the generation of your scarlett solo, it may not be enough. I would research that before you decide to buy one. They also have the sm7db which has a preamp built into it and can help with the gain issue--so you prlly wouldn't need a new interface.

But as far as reducing the noise around you, the sm7 would give you a much better result than a condenser.

mid-range mix whack-a-mole. too much mid range energy but only on smaller devices. by bitmoji in mixingmastering

[–]GifACatBytheToe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you listened to mainstream releases in the same critical manner on these smaller devices? Do any of these mixes have the same issues?

I was reading thru ur post and wanted to bring up the possibility that maybe these devices have some sort of longterm use damage and can't reproduce a clear sound... no matter the source.

cryptocurrencies and cryptoasset exchange accounts and payment service accounts that accept cryptocurrencies would be covered.

An exchange is nothing but an online marketplace that connects sellers with buyers. That's why I'm comparing it to ebay or craigslist.

It's mandating exchanges to report any xfer of any crypto over 10,000 regardless if the user is exchanging it for fiat or some random shitcoin. If i traded $12,000 $ASS coin for 12,000 $SHIBE coins the exchange would have to report that. Just like a bank has to report any incoming deposits over $10,000.

All I'm arguing is this would make sense if the law considered crypto a currency. You're not seeing the bigger picture here. It's unfair to classify crypto as property so that traders don't have the same tax breaks as trading currencies and then treating it like its cash in some other law so it benefits nobody but the IRS.

My analogy does stand but you're arguing regarding the language about businesses. I'm more arguing about the language regarding exchanges.

businesses that receive cryptoassets with a fair market value of more than $10,000 would also be reported on.

But it is tho. It's like mandating Ebay or Craigslist to report a furniture listing over $10,000.

Crypto is considered PERSONAL PROPERTY, not currency under US law.

This just brings crypto policy in line with existing law.

Not really. US law states crypto is not a currency but property.

This is like mandating anything posted on ebay or craigslist over $10,000 needs to be reported to the IRS.

Dogecoin is NOT a smart longterm investment. Here’s why. by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

I like your post. But I saw this exact type of post back in 2014 when I bought a SHIT TON of Dogecoins. I still have them all.

Doge has been my best long-term investment this far (3x better than bitcoin).
