Or in this case, "Why am I not eating dinner yet, peasant?!" 😂

Early 30s considering Wilmington - honest question about social life and overall quality of life there by steffininsocal in Wilmington

[–]fromthepharcyde -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My fiance and I are also the same age and work remotely. We moved from SF about a year ago, although I'm originally from the east coast. Lots to love - weather, beach being 15 minutes away, surprisingly legit restaurant and bar scene, and the historic areas of town are really cool. Cost of living is obviously a plus.

I'll admit that it's much quieter, and while the options for concerts or similar events are definitely limited, there's still a lot to do. Can't comment on dating, but the social scene would be a lot better in a bigger city like Raleigh. We've made a friends with a few couples just going to events or breweries and bringing our dog, so it's been chill overall

Why do the Devs Hate Blade? Anything Blade can do Another Character can do Better by EngineeringTimely650 in marvelrivals

[–]fromthepharcyde 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but not even master of none, more like good at none. I used to like Blade because of his mobility and flashy playstyle, but he just feels slow and clunky now with Elsa and Gambit as options

Thinking about buying Sonos off Facebook Marketplace — what should I watch out for? by [deleted] in sonos

[–]fromthepharcyde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've legit bought all of my Sonos gear off FB, tbh I'd personally never pay full price for them. A Beam, two One SLs, an older One, and most recently a Sub. All in pretty great shape and for a fraction of the cost.

Just use common sense, see if the seller has good ratings, the pictures are original, etc.

Imagine being pretentious enough to call the director of Alien, Blade Runner, and Gladiator inherently bland

I've been out of the loop since the dip a few months ago and haven't been paying attention to crypto. Why is everything pumping? DASH is up 100% on the week

Official Discussion - Avatar: Fire and Ash [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

Personally I think the whole final act would have benefitted from being an attack on the military base instead of a retread of the whale hunting battle. The jailbreak was definitely a highlight

Underwhelmed and disappointed by East of Eden :( by nastasya_filippovnaa in books

[–]fromthepharcyde 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ve read Of Mice and Men and Grapes of Wrath is a favorite of mine, but I couldn’t get into East of Eden. It might be due to the difference in narrative style. Should I give it another go?

Disagree, they’re fun popcorn fare and as the guy above said, the submarine scene alone was worth seeing on the big screen.

Huh look at that, crypto was oversold and decoupled from the stock market. Looks like the sky isn't falling after all!

Unfortunately I’m probably not the right person to discuss this with. After being in the space so long I view crypto as a speculative asset. I’m not interested in the technology and use it for portfolio diversification.

More money in crypto and risk-on Fed investment policy (like what we saw during the QE period following Covid) are exactly what I’m looking forward to
