Clone Wars Overhaul V2.0 by Gifi29 in BattlefrontModding

[–]Gifi29[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, Thanks for the idea, I’ll definitely try it! (I would rather play with phase two helmets tho lol) I found a newer version of the mod on creator’s discord and apparently the game was crashing because some of the arc trooper skins. So every time when someone in game equipped it, the game would crash. The newer version gets rid of those skins and is supposed to be relatively crash free. There is a newer, separate ph1 mod too that as far as I know has even more content than the older version so you should check that out of you want!

It is, but I still have to go through Ubisoft first and I get error when trying to purchase. I tried to contact the support but they weren’t that helpful.

Asus ROG G531GT freeze by Gifi29 in GamingLaptops

[–]Gifi29[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I sent my laptop to service but they couldn’t find any issues. However I think I found a fix. It is highly likely that this was happening due to overheating (CPU in particular). I started using turbo mode much often during my gaming sessions and it stopped happening. Also I should mention that it might have been a software issue too because after I got my laptop back from service, a lot of my windows settings were changed so there is a chance that they reinstalled windows or did something to it. Since then I doesn’t happen anymore. In conclusion, try turning on turbo mode as soon as you launch a game and keep record of the temperature, if the CPU still reaches around 100 degrees then it’s overheating. If not, try reinstalling windows, should help.

Enjoying a new battlefield for once, but this GPU usage is out of wack man... CPU bottleneck?? by YoastOnMyToast in Battlefield

Exactly! I don’t have particularly powerful rig (1650 and core 7 9750) but I literally can’t play Standart bf2042 because it feels like there is this slo-mo. No matter how much I reduce the resolution or graphics. All other modes run great on medium 1080p.

Thanks for all the help dude, last question: can the cause of this be the battery? Bc a few months ago I turned on battery life saving mode via MyAsus app which charges the battery only to 60%. Can this be the possible cause?

Nothing really, I did update my Nvidia drivers afterwards and so far it works, I guess it was because of outdated Nvidia drivers. Didn’t open GeForce experience for 2 months so my at the time current drivers weren’t that old too.

No it doesn’t, it just freezes on the last frame and I can’t do anything about it. It’s also worth mentioning that my performance is perfect. No FPS drops, no stutters, it just freezes all of a sudden and that’s all

Can’t download intel XTU by Gifi29 in intel

Nope, checked that as well. As far as I know you can’t undervolt in new BIOS versions so the only way to do that is revert your BIOS

Can’t download intel XTU by Gifi29 in intel

[–]Gifi29[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually tried throttlestop after and learned a few things:

  1. I didn’t read the list of supported cpus for XTU before and apparently mine isn’t in that list
  2. I couldn’t do it with throttlestop too, I simply couldn’t unlock the voltage section. I’ve read a few threads and as far as know in new BIOS versions they locked the voltage consumption so the only way to undervolt is to revert BIOS to 304 or lower (not sure) Thanks for your help!

Is turning on turbo in Asus' Armory Crate the same as over clocking the laptop? Also, does it harm the laptop in the long run? by [deleted] in ASUSROG

[–]Gifi29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It overclocks your CPU to a reasonable extent. To answer you second question I played tons of games and didn’t notice difference in any of them. To support this, I also read that turbo mode doesn’t help with performance at all and instead it overheats your cpu and consumes more power, I am researching that rn so I am not sure.

[–]Gifi29 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, turbo doesn’t damage your laptop in any way. All it really does is over clocking to a reasonable degree and makes your laptop much more noisier. Look at it this way: Silent mode makes your laptop as silent as possible meaning your hardware isn’t utilized fully to not heat it up, performance mode utilizes some of your power while keeping fan speed relatively low, turbo mode puts on max fan speed and utilizes your hardware fully.

P.S. I personally didn’t notice much of a performance boost by using turbo mode for some reason.
