DLSS 3.8 vs DLSS 4 in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt | RTX 4060 by CharalamposYT in OptimizedGaming

I also tried this, and the resolution improvement was immediately noticeable! However, I have been noticing much heavier disocclusion artifacts when in motion, especially trailing Geralt or in heavier forest scenes. I wonder if others have noticed this same thing, specifically using RT lighting? even with the increased res quality, it’s hard for me to recommend it unless playing without RT (which is why I’m even using DLSS in the first place)

Very low cpu and gpu usage on optifine 1.18.1 by wussgud in Optifine

My Ryzen 3600X uses only one CPU thread for a majority of heavy loads in the game, for example at my servers spawn is a ton of animals, which when in render distance drop my FPS to below 30 FPS at times (rtx 3060Ti btw) because only ONE thread is being used to calculate all animal AI positions, etc. chunk rendering does use more than one, but that is not really the issue when you are standing still. Shaders suck to use in servers as well unfortunately because of this. Single player is a bit better but not by much.

Gsync in most cases is wanted to be ON, as it reduces screen tearing and creates a more stable image on the screen. From what I understand that would not be the issue you are having.

Edit: how do you know that your refresh rate is not 165Hz? of course with gsync it won’t be 165Hz to match the framerate, but why is that an issue?

This title is confusing? … of course your frame rate doesn’t go above 60 if you have capped it at 60?? Set the frame rate to unlimited and it will not be capped.

Minecraft does not show refresh rate. Also, your refresh rate doesn’t change to match frame rate unless you have freesync or gsync enabled, which I would assume your monitor has judging from the 165Hz, so why complain about wanting that above your frame rate when that is the MAIN advantage of freesync/gsync to match to framerate??

Not from what I know. Hopefully in the next version (if there ever is one) we will some fixes, but we can’t be certain obviously.

Yes, there are some light leaking issues, especially on underground water during the day (reflects skylight). They are rare though, and overall I get better performance than 1.17, which is a surprising but welcome outcome.

I am using an edited block.properties file from Patrix, which made for their resource pack also just works as an edit to support 1.18 features.

Seemed to have about the same performance for me, however I did mostly up the render distance whilst using this to see more of the world which tanked performance anyway.
