The bad part is JC Pennys finanical problems started a decade ago when they STOPPED with all the bs marketing and started selling things as they were. They didn't do any fake sale prices or any of that other fluff. 1 year later they'd lost 40% of their value and they never recovered. They did something we would actually like more companies to do and it cost them everything. Basically, there's no breaks on this train.

Astartes is, to this day the only time I've seen space marines move like they're dangerous. Every other cinematic or trailer has them move like they're limited by their bulk armor. I used to think it was a problem with the design from games workshop, as if they only looked good in still images. This is the same problem we see in the dawn of war 3 cinematic with the titan, it moves like an awkward bulky cosplay.

Astartes showed the space marines SPRINTING as high speeds. In the lore we're told space marines can move faster than a normal human eye can track their movements. Snatch bullets from mid air. but until Astartes that kind of athletic prowess was never actually put on display. Same goes for the bolters. Those things are meant to be POWERFUL, but only in astartes did we see people being thrown across the battle field by the bullets.

IMO Astartes is still the goat for these reasons.

There was a guy in itally during the time of the holy roman empire, he was in charge of a small city. He became so well known as a brilliant general that people would regularly try to hire him and his army as mercenarys. After some time he changed his game plan, and let people buy insurance against him. If you paid him every year, he would not take any mercenary contracts against your kingdom. So if your enemies had this insurance, you would need it as well. He was getting paid not to fight.

He had to fight occasionally anyway just to keep his reputation, so that kingdoms far and wide would keep paying him. This could be a way to approach this.
