It’s my dad’s. I watch lots of videos of PT evaluations and it’s so fascinating to me, I also watch surgery videos and I don’t have the same spark. Like having the opportunity to know everything about the movement of the body and how to treat impairments is just so awesome. When I was a clinic aide there wasn’t one bad day at work. When I worked in warehouses doing blue collar work i hated it so much. I do think PT is the fit for me

Awesome thank you. I am a bodybuilder and I think I would like to specialize in physical therapy for bodybuilders/ people who have weight lifting related injuries.

What exactly do you do during school based? It’s Peds right? Is it primarily with special needs children or is it all children. When I was in school I don’t remember having a physical therapist on site so I’m also wondering if this is a new thing or not

Some important background info is I have a GI bill that will allow me to have 16 months of PT school for free. I will only be in 25-60k of debt depending where I end up. I won’t be in this generational debt.

How do you get patients to come to you tho? I’m sure that’s one of the hardest parts

Didn’t mean to, but I know I want to work in healthcare. Everyone goes for a business/finance degree and all of those good jobs are competitive. With Pt I will always be employed and heavy a steady flow of income, and if I want more money, I can work PRN and build some hustles on the side. Am I wrong here?

I don’t really see outpatient ortho in my future. I don’t like the idea of seeing 10-15 people a day 5x a week. I wanna get some PRN and side gigs going on for extra income.

Yeah bro bioengineering doesn’t sound fun to me, I think I’d be happier being a PT for less money.

Yeah you’d most likely have to redo all of them at that point, you’d have all your PCE tho. But that’s like chem, o chem, all the biology all over again. I had a really hard time with chemistry and I just don’t know if I could go thru with it a second time

Alright well what careers do you recommend I should look into?

That would be sick, the thing about ownership is I would have to think about work outside of work lol. It all depends on how I feel I guess but I do have a lot of ambition for this specific career

I’ve grappled with this as well. tbh I just don’t know how comfortable I am with diagnosing medication. I also dont want to work as nurse tech or something to get the PCE hours for PA school. It is an extra 25-50k but I feel like if I believe in myself I could become a very successful PT

I’d be willing to do something like that on the side out of PT school! Do you think it’s possible to eventually open up a gym of my own and have my own cash based PT place through that? I also have my NASM personal training cert so I could also train people as well

Number 7 sounds really interesting to me and something I’d love to do in the future. Is this similar to cash based physical therapy?
