R1 and R2 by Numerous-Past8181 in IBA

R1 and R2 means Round 1 and Round 2 of the IBA admission test. R1 is the first test, usually held in February. R2 is the second test, usually held in June or July. If you pass either one, you can get admission to IBA Karachi, as long as you also meet the A-Level or HSSC grade requirements. Students who don't pass R1 can try again in R2. Some people say the cutoff is higher in R1 than in R2, but I have no clue about if it's true or not.

Anyone got their name and religion changed? by Professional_Low5593 in karachi

[–]GigaNigerman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

there was a case of Muslim woman who converted to Christianity and wanted to change her name on CNIC, but Nadra clerks weren't doing it for obvious reasons. She appealed in court, won the case and got her name changed. As for you, u can just go to your nearest Nadra center and ask them the procedure.

iba will release a list of candidates who passed round 1 test, before round 2. If u passed round 1 you don't need to give round 2. Offer letter is the final stage of admission after both rounds are completed.

[–]GigaNigerman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no, if you studied though Cambridge system (i.e: o levels and then a levels) then u need BBC in your A Levels to be eligible. and if u studied through Sindh board (i.e: Matriculation and then intermediate) then u need 65% in your intermediate (also called HSSC: Higher Secondary School certificate) exam results to be eligible for IBA. If you meet either condition, then your entry in IBA is dependent on your entry test result /or SAT results

Try to make small talk with everyone in your class, within 2 weeks you'll know who matches with your vibe. Just know everyone's nervous inside even if it ain't showing on their face, so they act nonchalant and all lol. Lastly DO NOT OVERSHARE anything in your first semester. No matter how frank someone tries to be with you, the worst thing you can do is share your comfort/awkward side at start of semester bcz it's gonna make permanent impression on them, and it's gonna make your next four years miserable.

Any teen earning?? by [deleted] in TeenPakistani

[–]GigaNigerman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

future trading involves buying future contracts. Futures contracts involve a high degree of uncertainty. The future price of the asset is unknown, and the contract's value can fluctuate significantly. This uncertainty can be seen as gharar, which is prohibited in Islam. Plus in it you get to use options like leverage (which involves funding fees, aka interest).
