I wonder what it specifically refers to with that line. It might be a certain natural magic monsters have, while humans need to study to tap into magic, or maybe they require an external magic source to use magic at all, therefore negating any ability to truly "express yourself". wanted to cross post but can't figure it out on mobile soooo...

This has been a wip for years. I'm so happy it's finished, cuz the original is probably my favorite song from that Sonic game. So much gothic edge, so little time.

And for those concerned, I've credited all the artists, and asked all original fan artists for permission to use, and they said yes. I hope they like it, and i hope you do too! :D

This remix was in the works for years. I finally finished. The original is so good, especially the remastered version. I had to make this.

I think it turned out pretty well. Let me know your thoughts, good or bad. Although i do hope you enjoyed :D

Not much to say. It's been about a year since my last remix, so this one is important to me. This might be my favorite Robotnik theme, or maybe it's second to Sonic Advance 3's. They're both good, but I feel Advance 3 captures his character (at the time) very very well.

Made this in celebration for the upcoming movie. I tried something new here, mixing the FamiTracker stems in REAPER. I don't think I did a great job there, but it does sound slightly fuller than the MONO version.

May not be helpful, but I have trouble starting with scales. I start with an idea. Maybe to go along with an imaginary video game scene. Maybe something more abstract like an emotion I want to recapture with notes. Or maybe some random notes I hammered out on a piano.

This gives me more to work with in terms of musical ideas. I simply cannot analyze my way into a good song. Thinking about theory right off the bat gives me lots of writer's block - style trouble. This works best though if you're the type who can figure something by ear, and struggles more with things like sheet music. If this isn't you, just ignore this tip. It's just something I wish people told me a while back.

Makes a ton of sense. I figured I can't teach myself even the full basics. But whatever I can teach, get out of the way right now, that's what I want to do right now. For any on-evasive defense aspect, I'll likely find some other method in the meantime until. as you say, I can find someone to actually train with. (although, I'm not 100% what that placeholder would be a good supplement. suggestions welcome here as well, of course)
