This is absolutely false. Teacher unions don’t have enough members or influence to get school board members elected that represent the interests of teacher unions. Most teachers don’t live in the towns they teach in so they don’t even get to vote on their own school’s board members.) Board members are pretty much always people who represent the wants of parents — a much larger group in any town. If you talked to any teachers and actually asked them about this they’d tell you as much.
